I sat beside Samantha, absolutely shocked. My brown eyes instantly filled with tears and terror as I received this shocking, terrifying news.

Samantha: When I went to tell her about tomorrow, I found her dead in the living room. She was bleeding from her side.

She buried her head in her hands again, and I could tell that she would struggle with this loss. Samantha and her mother were close like me and Kirstin. A thought occurred to me: If Zac killed Tiffany would he come after Samantha? How long until he came after her? These thoughts swirled around in my head as I lifted my eyes, and saw that Scott and Mitch were equally shocked as I was. Kirstin encouraged Samantha to stand up and come into the house. I went to stand up but my right leg gave out. Mitch rushed forward and caught me; gently lifted me into his arms to carry me into the cabin. Scott's blue eyes watched me and he sighed as he knew that I would still have pain from the snare. He clenched his fists before he walked into the cabin, following Mitch.

Later that day after the shock had worn off, I was sound asleep against Kirstin. Her arm was around me, and her brown eyes were filled with love and comfort as she watched me sleep. The four of them casually chatted as I slept.

Mitch: How did you and Kailyn become friends?

Mitch's tone was calm and curious. There was no hint of anger or rage in his voice, only curiosity and care. He believed me now.

Samantha: It wasn't long before the race, when she came to Ober Gatlinburg when I worked there. I don't have a job anymore since the incident in November. We have became friends since then. I helped her move to Tennessee.

Scott opened his mouth to comment, but then his blue eyes filled with worry as my sleeping body jerked. He stood up instantly, keeping his eyes on me. I gripped Kirstin's shirt and she smiled, unaware that something was wrong.

Scott: Kirstin, something's wrong.

His voice was shaky as he watched my sleeping body start to tremble. Kirstin simply nudged me awake, before it got too bad or worse. My brown eyes were unfocused with fear as Kirstin rubbed my back until they cleared. Her voice was soft with care, love, and comfort.

Kirstin: You okay, sweetheart?

Me: Yeah, thanks to you.

Kirstin smiled at me as I got snuggled back in beside her. She softly rubbed my arm as my brown eyes closed in sleep. She smiled with love as she laid my head on her lap and moved my hair to gently rub my neck. Kirstin covered me with a blanket as I smiled softly as if I felt her soft touch. Mitch smiled as his brown eyes scanned Kirstin's face. Her brown eyes were filled with love, care, comfort, and admiration. Her smiled portrayed her thoughts: She loved me like her daughter. It wasn't much longer, before she was asleep against Scott. He put his arm around her and held her close. With me between them, Scott made sure to keep his hand on my leg to help me to sleep peacefully. Mitch smiled as he stood up to carry me to my room. Scott carried Kirstin to her room, just thinking more of her than remembering about the nightmare problem that I have been having lately. Little did him and Kirstin know is that the nightmares have been getting worse as the nights go on. And Kirstin has only died in about three. The one dying in them has been Scott and me. That's it. Him first of course and then I die in Mitch's arms. When Scott returned to the living room, he found Mitch pacing.

Scott: Mitch, what's wrong?

His friend seemed to not hear him as continued to pace. Scott's blue eyes filled with concern as he stepped forward and grapped Mitch's arm. The tenor singer instantly stopped and turned to his friend. Scott was shocked when he saw Mitch's troubled brown eyes. They were filled with concern and horror. Scott stiffened before shifting uncomfortably He waited for Mitch to tell him what was the matter.

Mitch: Scott, I believed that Kailyn and Kirstie were safe but now? If Zac killed his sister-in-law, he might come after Samantha. Kailyn will more than likely get hurt or worse in the process.

Scott was stunned by what he had just been told. He didn't even know how to respond because he shared the same thought. Scott knew with all his heart that his friend was right. Zac might come after Samantha and when he did, Kailyn would try to protect her friend. But would Zac attempt to kill Kailyn if he knew that she was alive? Scott's voice shook slightly as he attempted to calm his friend.

Scott: We'll protect her, Mitch. But you're right. We need to be ready for the worst. I don't want Kailyn to get hurt. She can't handle anything else. She's getting like Kirstin.

His blue eyes darkened as he pictured Zac coming in and injuring Kailyn. Mitch stared out the window, his brown eyes still blazing with the fire of protection. Scott's blue eyes suddenly brightened as he nudged Mitch.

Scott: I need your help, Mitch.

Mitch seemed not to hear his friend, but the fire that had blazed bright in his brown eyes was gone and replaced with sorrow and refret. Scott laughed quietly and gently pushed Mitch, hoping to get his friend's attention. Mitch turned his head to look at Scott.

Mitch: What is it, Scott?

Scott: I want to ask Kirstie on a date.

Mitch's eyes refocused and brightened instantly as he thought about what they could do.

Mitch: I'm sure that I could handle Kailyn. I've handled her before, remember.

The two boys excitedly chatted and came up with a plan. Scott went to bed first and left Mitch alone on the couch. He sighed and thought about what Scott had said. The words that his friend had spoken echoed in his head.

Mitch: There's no way that Kailyn has reached that point has she?

His brown eyes unfocused again as he thought about the trouble that has happend with the infection in my shoulder. I had almost died and even went into caridac arrest after they did the surgery to remove it. Mitch sighed again before he stood up to go to bed. As he was walking to his room, he stopped by my door. Mitch gently opened the door and smiled when he saw that I was sleeping peacefully. Softly closing the door, Mitch continued to bed. Once inside his room, he sat down on his bed and continued to ponder the things that has happened. His mind drifted back to when they had to rush me into surgery because of an infection in my side. The doctor told them that my side would never heal and the doctor the day before said the same thing after Mitch asked about that injury.
