Outside, Mitch was starting to get restless; fidgeting with his hads as he kept staring at the cabin door. Scott didn't seem as worried as he was because he continued to gently rub Kirstin's arm, who was still leaned against him asleep. Unable to sit any longer, Mitch stood up. With another glance at the door, the tenor singer began to pace. His mind was clouded with fear and concern. For some reason, he had a feeling that something was wrong. As the seconds ticked by, he began to get more worried. He checked his watch and sighed nervously. Mitch looked to Scott, who still seemed not to be worried about the situation. Mitch's voice was low with concern.

Mitch: Scott, she should be out by now. Should I go check on her?

Scott: She'll be out soon. Don't worry, Mitch.

Mitch wasn't so easily convinced as he continued to pace. His brown eyes unfocused as dread began rising inside him. He had a feeling that something was terribly wrong and he couldn't help but feeling that it had something to do with Kailyn. Suddenly Kirstin jolted awake, breathing heavily and trembling. Tears began streaming from her brown eyes and Mitch rushed to her side as if her sudden change of mood snapped him out of his thoughts. Kirstin leaned into Scott, burying her face in his side as the two boys tried to calm her down. Mitch crouched down beside her with his hand on her knee. Mitch could see that her brown eyes were filled with terror and sorrow? Why would there be sorrow in Kirstin's brown eyes? Scott's blue eyes had filled with concern as he held his friend closer. Mitch could feel her body trembling and waited for her to hopefully say what was the matter.

Scott: Kirstie, what's the matter?

Kirstin leaned into Scott more, unable to speak. Then her eyes flashed with pure terror and agony. Sorrow was thick in the depths of her brown eyes. There was no calm to be seen and Mitch was taken back by this sudden change of mood by his friend. Scott must have noticed the look in her eyes, because he stared ahead at the cabin. Mitch nervously followed his friend's blue gaze, expecting the house to be on fire or it crumbling down with Kailyn still inside it. Scott shook his head and turned his attention to Kirstin, who was still trembling in his arms. Kirstin, gasping for air, was able to say two words.

Kirstin: She's gone.

Mitch's brown eyes flashed with terror as he looked into Scott's concered blue eyes. Without saying anything Mitch, stood up and bolted to the front door. He ran into the door, and stumbled to open it. Fear made his high pitched voice higher as he cried out.

Mitch: Kailyn! Are you in here?

His heart dropped as hie received no response, his high pitched call echoing through the cabin that sounded empty. He moved nervously into the living room only to find nothing. His voice fluctuated as he continued to call.

Mitch: Please, Kailyn! If you can hear me, please answer!

Like the first time, he received no response. The cabin remained quiet and still. It was as if there was an erie stillness that made Mitch shudder with terror and dread. Using quick, shaky steps he reached the living room and found that the backdoor was unlocked.

Mitch: Please no.

The two words were breathed out as he turned towards the stairs. Kailyn wasn't in the living room, making Mitch lose more hope. How much longer could he last? Mitch put his left foot on the first stairs and forced his voice to sound normal, even though it still waivered.

Mitch: Kailyn, are you upstairs?

Once again, he received nothing but an echo. Taking cautious steps, he ascended the stairs. Mitch stood at the top of the stairs, looking around with terror in his brown eyes and dread rising inside of him. His brown eyes flicked around the loft for any signs of Kailyn.

Mitch: Kailyn! Please, respond.

This time the last two words were breathed out as his voice trembled and the sense of dread came like a wave almost knocking him off his feet and down the stairs behind him. He looked down the hallway and noticed that Kailyn's bedroom door was open. Mitch shakily moved towards the open door and when he reached the door he saw that it was cracked. He stopped just outside her door and his voice was thick with fear and concern as he cried.

Mitch: Kailyn, is everything alright?

His heart dropped when he received no response from within the room. Slowly, he put his hand on the door and pushed it open. Mitch stared in horror at what he saw. Drawers were open and things were thrown everywhere. There was stuff on the bed; however, that wasn't what bothered Mitch. Outside the closet was something that was shiny. Not only was the substance shiny, it also had a red tint to it.

Mitch: No.

The single word was breathed out as he shakily moved to the substance that had drawn his attention. He gasped as he saw blood on the floor. Mitch fell to his knees in agony and cried out in a voice heavy with agony, sorrow, and grief.

Mitch: Kailyn!

Tears began to flow from his brown eyes as he lowered his head. His body shook from grief and unimaginable sorrow. Unable to say anything else, the tennor singer remained on the ground beside Kailyn's spilled blood. He knew that he should tell Scott, but Mitch couldn't move. Mitch didn't know what to do and in his mind, Kailyn was probably dead. Mitch's body shook with grief and his eyes were filled with tears, sorrow, agony, and grief. He had actually lost her this time and there was no getting her back.
