I was outside alone, standing on the cabin's front step. The cabin was still as I stepped inside when I heard a loud noise. I remained cautious as I stepped inside and looked around. There's nothing here. A shiny material was on the floor by the stairs. I walked over to pick it up, and it had a sticky substance. When I looked closer, I noticed that it was blood. Why is there blood on this piece of metal? I wondered as I realized that the blood was still warm, clarifying that it was freshly spilled or was a setup in a sense. "Kailyn?" I called as I walked up the stairs. There was no response as I quickly neared her room. When I stepped inside, I saw that Kailyn was on the floor, in chains. She was struggling underneath Jessica. No! Get off of her! Soon I saw Kailyn's body go limp, and feeling anger rise inside me, I bolted into the room and pushed Jessica off of Kailyn. Jumping on top of Jessica, I took what she was beating Kailyn with and beat her. "No one messes with my daughter!" I told her as I grabbed the rope in her hand and tied her up. Dragging Jessica to a back window, I threw her out of it, rushing back to Kailyn. The anger melted and love replaced it. I got on my knees beside Kailyn and gently released the ropes. Kailyn was still lying limp, and I was worried that she was dead. "Kailyn, it's okay. I got you now. You're safe." I soothed as I carefully pulled her into my arms. Her eyes were closed, and her breathing shallow. I saw a rope drawn around her neck, but no longer tight. She wasn't breathing when I took it off, but when I threw it aside, Kailyn started gasping for air. Her beaten body then grew deathly still. I ran one of my hands over her cheek and sighed. Kailyn wasn't going to make it and I knew that. "Kailyn, please don't go." She coughed and I tried to soothe her. Just make sure that she is comfortable till she passes, Kirstie. You tried. "I'll sit with you, I won't go anywhere, sweetheart." I promised as I held her close. Looking up at the window, I sighed. Jessica should at least be dead by now, if she landed how I wanted her to land. I'm not that kind of person, but when you mess with someone like Kailyn, you might as well fear your life. Momma bear might just make a magical appearance. Kailyn's body gave a terrifying spasm, but I stayed calm knowing that if I got upset it wouldn't help her. "I got you, Kailyn." Kailyn's pain glazed eyes opened and she looked at me as she gasped out: "Will you" her words were interrupted by a spasm of coughing. "Shhh, don't speak. You don't have the energy right now." I soothed as I then realized that she was trying to ask if I was going to be okay. With a sad sigh, I drew her body close to mine and felt tears stream from my eyes. "I'll be okay, Kailyn. Scott will take care of me." As those words left my mouth, I felt Kailyn's body go limp and her breathing stop. I released her slightly looking up and down her motionless body. With a gasp, I realized that Kailyn was dead. "Kailyn! Please, wake up. You got to wake up. Come on sweetie." I stopped myself from saying anything else because I knew better. My daughter, who was only my daughter in dreams and in my head, had just died in my arms. "Oh Kailyn. The tour will be in remembrance for you, I promise. You will never be forgotten." I laid my dead daughter on the floor and bent my body over her lifeless body. Tears streamed down my face as I felt the warmth drain from Kailyn's body. "I loved you more than you will ever know." The words were breathed out as I stretched my trembling body over Kailyn's lifeless body. Soon my arms and legs gave out, making me collapsed beside Kailyn's body. I reached out my hand and gently rubbed her arm as if trying to bring her back.
