I should have known! We had never actually seen a body. Even Leo's repeating nightmare memories I'd seen repeatedly whenever I slept never seemed to end with him actually dying. It was one of those classic fake-out deaths Disney seemed to like doing in their cartoon movie sequels. Hell. Remembering back to TMNT 2012, Nickolodian did something similar with Master Splinter...But on the other hand, the Krangfection was probably the thing keeping him alive. After all, his vitals were still pierced.
"Raph," gasped Leo again, tears filling his eyes, "Raph, your alive!" He began running towards his big brother, who lunged at him, snarling. Leo barely managed to dodge.
Krang, who looked like he hadn't quite recovered from that nasty chemical April had thrown at him, had a dent in his head that I was pretty sure I made from the punch I gave him that same time. It gave me a bit of pride that he still had it.
He rode atop the warped Ghost Bear, as he said, "Oh, you'll find that you're brother isn't quite...himself, turtle. I made him better, stronger, and obedient to my whims. I could do the same for you and for this weak and pathetic planet."
"Oh, I think the 'obedience' thing is kind of a deal breaker," I said tucking the shard away in what would have technically been my extra pocket if I was a human wearing a bra, "Most Earthlings don't quite like that..."
"Who are you?" he asked turning his gaze towards me.
"What, don't recognize me? I feel a bit hurt," I said, "And after I gave you that present," I pointed at the dent, "Well, to be fair, a bit about me changed recently..."
The alien's eyes widened. "You!" he said, "I'm going to enjoy watching you die! You, go after her!"
Raph turned in my direction. running towards me. I didn't exactly expect it, but it was the perfect opportunity to do for my friend, what I did for Meatsweats. At least, it would have been if I didn't feel something yank me back and into the arena stands. I was caught by Big Mama's larger spider hands as she secured me to a seat.
"Karen! What are you doing," yelled out Splinter, who had also been trapped under her webs. It was kind of weird knowing she had an actual name, but then again, 'Big Mama' seemed more like a title.
"Oh, you know, Lou," she said, "I may be a schemer, but Big Mama always keeps her end of the bargain."
"Let me guess," said Draxum, struggling against his binding, "You're thrilled to watch him throw his life away? You're even more ecstatic that we'll be watching you're plan pan out to perfection! I told you she was going to do something like this, Rat..."
The yokai woman's hands balled up into fists and she said, "Yoshi, I made that boy a promise that you'd all be safe...You know I wouldn't do this to hurt you or your boys...well, at least not in the present."
"Karen...I know," said Splinter softly, "But I can't just sit here and let my son be killed, especially by my other son. It would hurt them. It would hurt me. It would hurt all of us, you included. So, please, please. Whatever he promised you, forget about it, and let us help him. You know any Hamato is strongest when surrounded by our loved ones."
The spider lady glanced toward the ongoing battle. Leo was surrounded on all sides. Raph grabbed him by the neck with a tentacle and lifted him into the air. Then Big Mama looked back at Spinter, and said, "Okay...I'll do it for you, Louie-bo..."
One by one, she tore away each of our bindings and one by one everyone started making their way down into the fight. I was the last one she freed. Before I made my way down there, she said, "You know, he made the exact same deal with me when he asked me to protect you all. I almost had the both of you on the first condition..."
