On the other hand Yibo was standing beside his mother as a statue. His face reflects today competition would be child's play for him. He was here because his mother threatened him with the marriage.

After Yibo returned from seclusion mediation, his mother continuously nagged him about his marriage. Mother queen strictly mentioned that, his coronation would be done along with his marriage as when he become the king it is needed to have a Empress for the kingdom's future. Of course it's not like Yibo doesn't wants a mate. He wants a true mate, not a mate who was after his good looks or his wealth.

It was very difficult him to find a true mate as he was handsome, powerful and wealthy alpha. Even though he was a most feared alpha, he was also most desired by the omegas. Both female and male omegas wanted to be mated to him. Potential mates had travelled from far to get a chance with the alpha. But Yibo turned each of them down. Non of omegas suited to his taste, he was picky when it comes to his future Empress.

The omegas that came to see him was all deceiving and seductive. Some were even tried to seduce him by releasing their scents, wearing revealing clothes, showing off way too much of their body, trying to slithering around him like snakes, trying to touch him whenever any chance they got. Yibo was disgusted by them. None of them actually care about him, they only care about one thing: his status. They just wanted to be mated to the most wealthy and powerful man in the land. None of them tried to get to know him before trying to get in to his pants. Yibo really hate this. Each and every day he rejected so many omegas that came to the castle attempting to win his heart. This includes royal princesses from other kingdoms, omegas from upper-class families, and omega daughters or sons of Gusu kingdom ministers. He didn't even hesitate to turn them all down. Queen mother felt so done with him already.

Yibo decided to venturing outside the palace walls to search for a suitable mate. He was willing to go out of the kingdom if needed to find his future mate. Queen mother became totally speechless due to Yibo's actions.

"I don't mind if you're searching for a mate. But Empress or future queen of this kingdom will be chosen by me. Don't forget it." She yelled. Why the heck this boy become this picky? What if he meets someone who isn't right for him? Yibo's mother was distressed.

Yibo doesn't care about his mate's status. That's why he searched for his mate venturing every streets and every corners in the royal capital. That's how he found his love, Lusi. But queen mother didn't like her at first glance and refused to make her as the future empress of the kingdom. Now she was always threatening him with Lusi, saying that if he didn't listen to her, he wouldn't be able to even make Lusi his consort. Yibo actually wants to keep Lusi close to him no matter what, whether as an empress or a consort it doesn't matter to him. He can't go against his mother because she was the one in charge of his harem and he knows she always think about the future of the kingdom first before anything else.

The competition began. Yibo gave his mother a slight nod and joined in. On the other hand Yubin didn't left Zhan's side at all. The competition consists of several rounds with various combats such as archery, sword fighting, hand to hand combat, horse riding, and so on. The use of spiritual powers is strictly forbidden during the competition. Zhan had his first round against an omega and won the match without any difficulty. Zhan didn't gave a damn in the subsequent rounds, even though he was up against alphas. He was really confident, carefully and skillfully won against them. Even his face didn't flinch a bit when facing the alphas who is almost twice of his size. Zhan compete every alpha he faced like a piece of cake. Everyone gasped seeing how talented Zhan was. Despite the fact Zhan was participating the phoenix festival for the first time, he actually stole everyone's attention. An alpha being this talented would be normal but an omega doing so is above and beyond the norm. Zhan was the only omega in the history, who survived until the semi finals.
