~Needle POV~

Even if everyone is supposed to be asleep now, I can't bring myself to be... My head is still filled with ideals and fears. I roll out of bed and put on some slippers. Maybe to keep my mind off the death, maybe because of my curiosity to explore the Facility. As I exit a notice a familiar face standing near the elevator.

Taco?

She looks over to me for a moment before pushing the elevator button. I walk over and stand next to her, her face is full of gloom. I can't help but feel it radiating.

"So..." I begin, the elevator door slides open and we step inside, "Why are you up so late?" I lean against the wall, clutching the metal bar connected to it.

"... Probably the same reason as you." She says, scratching her head. I nod, and look away.

"I can show you the door to the Facility. If you want." I let go of the bar and raise my hand in question. Taco nods and we walk towards the Snack Bar.

"There's a trap door behind the counter. Me and Match looked down it when we discovered it, but we never tried opening it." Me and her peer into the holes between the bars, she's quiet. But I can faintly hear her breathing.

"So... This could be an exit?" She jiggles the bars, and they're loose. Surprisingly loose. I'm thin, I could probably squeeze into there. Then I could unlock it for Taco. I disregard any ideals to stay safe and take off my slippers.

"What are you..?" She asks me.

"Watch." I sit on my knees and push my feet through the bars. For a second she's frozen.

"Wait! I wouldn't do that" She can't stop me. I slip down, and hold on to one of the bars with a firm hand, gripping onto the ladder with my legs and other hand.

The trapdoor is locked from this side, and I slide the blocker off.

"Come down with me!" I push the door up and poke my head out. She's hesitant for a moment before nodding. We climb down together. Dust stings my eyes, and by the time we both reach the bottom my eyes burn with  tears.

"Phew." I take a sigh of relief. From the ladder is a long hallway, and at the end is a door with a combination lock. Crud. Luckily the door is barred, which means we can look inside.

The facility looks like a prison, and it seems desolate. But... There's somebody in there.

Or... Something.

"H-hello?"

My voice echoes into the dark room, heartbeat rocking in my throat. The person turns to me with a surprised expression. Its almost pitch dark.

"Oh... Oh my god."

This person... Without a shadow of a doubt... Is Book.

~Subject 1: Book POV~

Its been a while since I first escaped my cell. Almost a month, at least, that's what that girl tells me. Her eyes flash when it's night time. Maybe so she doesn't loose sight of time.

Days turned to weeks, and nobody but her would converse with me. Its like I'm going crazy talking to her. She also doesn't sleep at night, just talks to me. Its hard to sleep with her incoherent babbling, so I sleep in the main hall.
