I step into my new dorm and set down my brown bag,i take a second to look around in awe at the beautiful crown molding on the ceiling and the mahogany door accents... "Anne  are you alright?" Marilla asks concerned, "...i-its positively amazing marilla..this is where my life truly begins" i sigh as I lay sprawled on my bed, I stare up at the ceiling getting familiar with the eggshell color and the way the sun reflects off the windows,everything was so great...but there was still something missing... "Gilbert" i mutter,

"What was that Anne?" Matthew questions, "oh nothing I was just preoccupied with my own thoughts", "oh well that's quite alright Anne,we'll Matthew I think we'll be off and let Anne settle in we'll write you everyday Anne and we'll miss you very much" marilla said as she smiled, "thank you..marilla and Matthew I'll miss you guys everyday and I promise to visit before harvest I'm sure Jerry's going to miss me while I'm gone" i joked, "I'm sure he will,alright we'll we're off now" Matthew said leaning in for a hug. We all hug and i take in the smell of warm cedar and new linen before they walk out the door.

I turn to watch them, walk down the road to the carriage, i sigh and begin unpacking my things. "ANNE, ANNE??...ANN- oh Anne where we're you ruby and I have been waiting for you, we have been touring the house without you", Diana says slightly annoying. "I'm sorry Diana I've just been a little homesick..." "oh Anne i too have been missing home,mom,dad,Minnie Mae... but things are going to be alright we're women now and we have our whole lives ahead of us" Diana says happily,she always knew how to look at the bright side of things. "Oh yes Diana it's just been a bit hard with this new change and I haven't even seen Gil-..."

"Anne...are you homesick...or Gilbertsick..", "DIANA" I squealed, "what...don't lie you miss Gilbert and I'm sure he misses you as well", "I'm not so sure last time I saw he was planning to propose to Winifred..I should have told him how I felt,but it's too late now..",

*loud knocking ensues* "hello...hello anyone home?" A familiar male voice echoed throughout the house, "Diana?,ruby?...hello?" The voice repeats, i gasp and in unison "GILBERT", "Diana what do I say?? What do I do..." I say nervously, "Anne just..just go out there and talk to him", "b-but" "everything's going to be fine" Diana says before she gets up and walks down the corridor. "Gilbert please come in", "sorry to bother you Diana have you seen Anne anywhere?" Gilbert says out of breath.

"Uh yes,she's right down here" I stand up fixing my royal blue dress, "Anne..." Gilbert says surprised. "Gilbert...", "I'll leave you guys to talk" Diana says as she swiftly walks out of the room. "Im sorry Anne for everything", "there is no need to apologize Gilbert Winifred is a beautiful girl.." i said feeling slight hurt as I let those words out...
