*LUNA'S POV:

"Eddie, please! Wake up!" I gasped, trying to claw his hands from my throat. His constant movements made it obvious that he'd been dreaming, but suddenly climbing on top of me and clasping his hands around my neck was a dream I didn't want to become a victim of.

"You killed her!" he shouted, "You fucking killed her!"

"Ed-ddie," I struggled to say as his grip became tighter, "Dr-Dream, wake up!"

Dark eyes brimming with determination stared down at me as if his goal was to kill me. He couldn't be aware of his actions. His mind was somewhere else, but I couldn't convince him otherwise. The pressuring grip on my neck restricted my vocals and airflow. As one last attempt, I used my remaining strength to yank his hands away just enough to scream his name into oblivion.

Lights flickered on as footsteps thumped against the wood of the stairs and continued towards the living room. Wayne ripped off the blankets of the fort, looking appalled as the situation was finally revealed. He got Eddie by the collar of his shirt, roughly pulling him back. Eddie loosened his hold around my neck, but reached for the hoodie I was wearing and started dragging me across the carpet. I wheezed for the air I was finally able to breathe as Susan broke the connection between us. Wayne struggled to hold Eddie back as the boy lashed out. He repeatedly shouted, "You bastard! I'll kill you! I'll fucking kill you!"

Susan slipped her arms under mine and supported me as I managed to stand. We rushed down the hall to the bathroom, where I slowly slid down the wall as more sobs were absorbed by the skin of my knees.

"Luna, sweetheart, what happened?" she asked, her voice soft but firm. A cold washcloth was placed on the back of my neck.

"He w-was, he was dreaming, I swear! It's n-not, not his fault!" I cried. "A nightmare, a nightmare! He's dreaming!"

"Okay, okay, breathe. Deep breaths. How bad does it hurt? Let me see." she said, lifting my chin and observing. The strangling sensation was still tingling. Gasping at the sight, she apologized and offered to call my parents. No, don't do that, I pleaded. I can't leave him now──he needs me.

"Luna. . ." she trailed off, "You shouldn't be here after what just happened. You need to go home."

I refused, begging her to let me stay. Complying, she sighed and told me to stay in the bathroom until she returned. She came back and said the two guys had went upstairs, so we were now free to go to the living room area instead of being stuck in a small powder room. It was insisted that hot chocolate be made. As I sipped from a warm mug, Wayne walked down the stairs, rubbing his temple.

"Luna, darling, are you okay?" he asked, approaching me. He winced at the visible marks.

I nodded. "How is he?"

"He's beating the shit out of himself. What on earth happened? He kept telling me it was a dream but he wouldn't give any details."

"I'll go talk to him─"

"No, no. I love you dearly, Luna, really, I do, so you need to go home. I'll take you myself-"

"Please, Wayne. He'll talk to me. He's awake now and aware of everything. Nothing will happen. Please,"

He sighed, looking over at Susan. "At least give him some time."

I counted to five hundred──yes, five hundred──before asking if now was a good time. The two looked at each other hesitantly but I didn't wait for an approval. I made my way upstairs and took my time walking to his room. The door was cracked open and I could hear from the other side. Placing my hands on the doorframe, I slightly opened the door further and glanced in. Eddie frantically paced back and forth with his hands yanking at his hair, occasionally running down his face to wipe the tears from his eyes. I eased my way in, backing against the door to close it.
