Prince Alexander the 57th:
Yawning I stretch out across my bed, rubbing my eyes I stare out the window at the soft afternoon glow. Grabbing the new phone I lazily scroll through one short after the next. I am drawn out of my daze of doom scrolling as my guitar is knocked over by the curtain. I stretch out again the world going quiet for a second as I yawn feeling the cool gust of wind. Swinging myself up I walk towards the window picking up my guitar I lazily sit on the window ledge watching the sky. I strum a few cords. The sky is so beautiful, orange and purple reflecting perfectly off the crystal-clear water. I can just about make out some koi fish swimming a bout in their fountain. I try and make up a song about lazily so-called elites turning my lawns into a simple car park. I cannot believe their audacity as one by one they all strut out in ridiculously over the top clouthes. Some child jumps up onto my fountain wall walking along its length kicking water up. I laugh as some lady dodges the splash knocking into some waiter. She starts yelling at him about ruining her dress. Is this really what they expect me to do. To get up and come and smile at this lot, I am not some show pony.
Not a chance. My phone buzzes again. I pick it up seeing a notification about Club galaxy – The most exclusive and technologically advanced club in the entire kingdom teleporting you into the heart of space. Or at least that's what the media says. You cannot trust the media not for one second. Another message from mothers' puppets pops up.
That's it, that's it. Cant they just leave me alone. Leave me alone. I walk over to the bathroom washing my face in cold water. Lina's incessant voice going on and on in my head... your duty, your responsibility. Shut up I whisper, looking at myself in the mirror. You're not fooling anyone. You're a fraud and they will see it. What makes you special. You're pathetic. Shut up I yell at myself. I grab a joint taking a deep breath, I turn up my music and ring for my servants.
I look myself over in the mirror smiling. I'm in a one-of-a-kind glow in the dark aesthetic suit perfect for the club. I cant stop chuckling at my moron stylist sulking staring at his creation drifting in the bath. If he did not want to get wet, he shouldn't have kept insisting on that ridiculous golden military uniform. I swear everyone theses days seem to think their opinion is valid. You should stick to sewing I say laughing again blowing a puff of smoke in his face. As they scurry out, I hear Lina yapping again about that stupid event. You have got to be kidding me. I look over at Ben rolling my eyes: "get me out of here." I whisper. We sneak off through a hidden panel.
Walking the long way around I catch a glimpse of someone in rosemary hall swearing at a statue of cupid. Stopping perplexed I look as they throw up their hand muttering under their breath they put the phone back to their ear and starts pacing, twirling her hair frantically as she talks in a sickly sweet voice. I chuckle smiling at her theatrics. She turns around stopping as she sees me. It's Ana. She stares a little shocked still twirling her hair like she has always done when she's stressed. She looks at me her eyes narrowing slightly, muttering something into the phone she walks up to me with that fake smile on her face.
"You made it; you had me worried for a second ... your highness." She says with a slight curtsy.
"Worried about what?" I ask.
"It is about to start. I am glad you could make it your royal highness."
"Oh no, I am not, I am on my way out." I say.
"You are not?" she says stiffly.
"It's a political event your highness." She says.
"Ana, I don't need this from you right now. I barely managed to escape mother and her hound dog Linda."
"Her eyes narrow, you serious right now?" She asks sighing.
"Excuse me?" I say taken aback, before I can say anymore, she turns going back to her phone call clicking her heels heavily on the floor with each step. I look over at Ben can you believe her, but Ben just stares a head, stiffly. Looking back at Ana I'm about to say something when I catch a few words, particularly – Sunshine. I listen closer it has been scorching hot lately however if I'm right she's talking about a who. A few more seconds and I'm certain it's Sunshine she's talking to.
