"Mr. Swift was hilarious today. I never had so much fun in his class till now."
Kate laughs remembering the incidents that happened in his class.
"Yeah"
Stephen also laughs.
Suddenly, a car pulls over right in front of them and a door opens. The same woman from that day comes out and grabs Stephen by his hand.
"Come with me right now. We need to go. It's an emergency!"
Stephen looks at Kate and assures her that everything will be fine.
Stephen smiles for the last time while leaving in the car.
Who knew that it would be the last smile Kate would have seen of Stephen's?

[Present]
Kate comes to the office with a gloomy face.
"Her first love is her bestfriend's crush."
She thinks.
How can something this cruel happen? How did he vanish in thin air? Kate tried to contact him afterwards so many times but he was nowhere to be found.
"There were rumours that, the day I last saw Stephen, was the day when he got into an accident because of his mother's rash driving. After that, he had to be admitted in a hospital and his grandparents denied to keep him with his parents and took him away but where? No one knows! And now he also changed his identity?"
"Happy Birthday"
A voice breaks the nest of thoughts of Kate.
"Guys?"
Kate exclaims as all of her colleagues wish her.
Sirius gifts a box to Kate.
"Many many happy returns of the day."
Kate opens the box. It's a pair of heels.
"Heels?"
Sirius nods.
"You look beautiful in heels and I paid extra attention to comfort. These are platform heels so you won't feel pain in your feet easily. There are cotton pads inside as well so that you won't feel pain while walking towards me."
"Walking towards you?"
Kate looks at Ella to get a hint of his words.
But she acted to be clueless too.
"Nevermind."
Sirius says.

Kate opens the box given by Sirius and wears the heels.
"Sirius really has a good sense in fashion."
Or is it because he notices every little detail of her?
Kate opens her wardrobe and brings out another box.
She leans back on her armchair and opens the box.
It has a pair of sneakers.

"This is for you"
Stephen brings out a box.
"What is this?"
"Sneakers."
Stephen opens the box.
"For me?"
Kate was in disbelief.
"Of course. You keep tripping over literally everything and I always have to hold you. Uneven roads, in thin air and even over me."
Stephen raises his eyebrows.
"Stephen!"
"I bought these for you so that you won't trip again. Heels may look good on you, but you trip while wearing those. I don't want you to trip and fall on any other guy's arms."
Stephen looks at Kate.
"Happy Birthday Kate."
"You remember my birthday?"
Kate's eyes were filled with tears.
"I don't usually remember these things but whenever something is related to you, it automatically gets stuck in my mind."
Stephen puts the shoes in Kate's feets.

Kate sighs.
She puts the shoes back in the box.
Suddenly she remembers something that before this day.
When she was walking across the manager's office for grabbing some coffee, she overhead a conversation between Aiden and Sirius.

"What more do you want from me?"
"Calm down Sirius."
"You took my parents' love, my grandparents, and now, even my position."
"I didn't take anything away from you. It's the situation that made everything this way. Try to understand."
"Situation, my foot. You know what? Having a brother like you? I would have rather skipped that opportunity."
