"This staff will make an excellent gift for my father. I suppose you wouldn't know of fathers, being raised by monks," Zuko told Aang, whose hands were bound and guarded by Jingyi. The young nomad said nothing. Zuko ordered the guards, "Take the Avatar to the prison hold and take the staff to my quarters."
Iroh looked at the weapon and looked at Jing. "Hey, you mind taking this to his quarters for me?"
The princess took the Airbender's staff and tossed it to an unexpected guard, hitting him in the head. "Take that to the prince's quarters. I'm going to bed."
"Already?" Iroh asked. Eza cocked his head at her, still on the old man's shoulder.
"Yes, I forgot how stressful it was being around people."
She stormed off into her quarters, handmaidens trailing after her. Her servants worked quickly, removing her armor, brushing her long hair, etc. While they worked, Jingyi didn't say a word. Her eyes were closed, mind elsewhere.
She thought of the Water Tribe boy and his village. He was pathetic and weak. But she still thought about him. He was loyal to his people. He could be a good soldier if he learned how to be quiet and how to fight. But he was stuck in a warrior fantasy.
"Princess!" A guard shouted. Rapid knocks fired at her door.
Jingyi opened her eyes, glaring at the sound of the noise. She nodded to a servant to let the guard in.
The young guard ran in, kneeling below her immediately. He was shaking. "Princess Jingyi! The Avatar! He overpowered the guards and ran off. He's escap-"
"What!" She screamed, standing up abruptly. Her serenity was gone. She immediately went to work, grabbed her closest weapon - the bow and arrow - and listed off orders. "I want everyone on this ship looking for the Avatar. As soon as you see him, you are to capture him by any means necessary. Now!"
Her bare feet pounded against the metal floor of the ship, as she ran through the halls. She wore casual clothes and only had a long-distance weapon in her hands. She was by no means prepared to fight, but that didn't mean she wouldn't.
The young guard and her servants followed her closely as if to provide her some sort of protection. The princess knew they were utterly useless though, so she left them in the dust as soon as she saw a flash of orange and yellow dash through the halls. Running after him, she drew her bow, letting a spark of fire light on the arrow.
The Avatar let out a scream as soon as he saw her. The victorious smile he previously wore faded. A flaming arrow soared through the air, almost hitting his head but he countered it with his airbending.
