Chapter 5: The Peace Maker
We reached camp as everyone was waking up. Every one's attention soon diverted towards Grace and Gypsy. Dreck stepped forward, “What is this?” he questioned.
“This,” Grace pushed Gypsy forward, “the princess of the magic users.” There was a shocked silence.
I stepped forward and pulled out my dagger protectively, “She has done nothing to us. Think first, this could be our chance to make peace with the magic users.”
“Ha! Make peace?! They blasted us up here to this hell! And you want to make peace with these monsters?!” Grace laughed hysterically.
“No, I believe Robin speaks the truth. As long as this princess has done nothing to harm us, then we won’t harm her.” Dreck carefully chose his words.
“Oh thank you!” Gypsy said thankfully to Dreck.
This isn’t like Dreck, he would have called her a spy and beheaded her. I thought to myself, he’s hiding something. “But she could be a spy! She could be a assassin to kill us all!” Grace shouted angrily.
Gypsy stared at Grace in horror, “I would never do such a thing, I ran away from home because I heard my daddy say that the clan needs a peace maker. So I came around here to find some survivors that could be this peace maker.” Gypsy turned to stare at me.
“So...” Dreck was thinking, “the magic users want to make peace with us? Won’t be easy... although a treaty could be made...” His face a mask showing no emotions.
ohhhh I know this game... play the treaty in your favor is it? I’ll make you play fair and square. I promised as I unconsciously rubbing the snake band on my wrist. Gypsy was watching me carefully still. “Wait... are you thinking that I’m this peace maker you mention.”
Her face lit up with a smile, “That is exactly what I think.”
“And why would you think that?” Dreck asked sceptically.
“Everyone in the magic community was notified who and when the peace maker was chosen.” Gypsy informed cheerfully. “The sword of the chosen one is marked onto the person by the mark of the knowing snake.”
I realized what she was saying and stopped rubbing the snake on my arm. Dreck smiled triumphantly, “And what powers does this sword posses?”
“Are you serious?! You run away from the castle, run into the humans and get captured by them?! And now you were going to tell them something top secret! You must be joking...” the displeased voice of Damon came from the trees.
