Tam POV

I watched Fitz lead Marella away, and then Keefe took Sophie. Biana and Dex walked away to some spot next, and after that it was just Linh, Wylie, and I.

"Give me one second, Wylie," Linh said, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. Gonna have to get used to... This. Whatever this is.

"Hey..." She trailed off. I sighed and took a seat on the ground. She did the same and leaned her head against my shoulder.

"Don't worry, Tammy. You'll find someone soon."

I sighed again, "Yeah, I know, I just thought... I thought I already did." I stole a quick glance at Biana. I could feel tears grow in my eyes the more I looked at her, but I quickly wiped them away.

Linh pulled me in for a huge hug.

"I'm so sorry, Tammy," She said softly, squeezing my harder.

"No, Linh. It's okay, it's okay. I'll be okay." I buried my face in her hair. It smelled like sewed and ocean water.

She finally let me go, "Wylie is waiting for me," She sniffed. I realized she had been crying. I quickly wiped her tears away.

"Don't cry over me, Linh. Please."

"I'll always cry over you, Tammy. I love you."

"I love you too, sis," I said softly, "Now go be with your boyfriend," I smiled at her.

She nodded, "Thank you, Tam." Then she got up, and her and Wylie left to some other place. And then it was just me. Alone. Alone with the darkness. The darkness that I really hated sometimes. Maybe if I was more like Dex, Biana would like me. Maybe if I built gadgets and had strawberry blond hair she would give me a second glance. Maybe if I didn't always wear black, and maybe if I tried to socialize more, she would give me a chance.

Or maybe not. Maybe she just doesn't see me like that, and never will.

But either way, I'll love her just the same. 

Linh was wrong to hope. I never should have thought, maybe, just maybe, she would love me. When she never would. And never will.

I could feel the tears spill down my cheeks. And this time, I didn't try to stop them.
