TW// crying

Super short chapter so now I am very very :( [sad]

Y/N's POV

Today is my birthday! I'm turning 17. I decided to dress a little better today, but I still looked like an angsty teen. I had on a black and grey striped shirt, dark jeans, some chain necklaces, and some dark brown shoes.

Yeah

Yeah...I looked really emo...

Oh well.

When I went downstairs, I was greeted with many 'good morning!'s' and 'happy birthday!'s" I thanked them. I had never celebrated my birthday for my entire life. We couldn't afford if when I lived with my parents, and the orphanage just didn't do anything.

"Your outfit looks nice today!" Nikki smiled. "Thanks." I replied. "You don't seem very exited about it being your birthday." Ranboo stated the obvious. "I've never done anything to celebrate it. Just seems like another day to me." I shrugged. "Really?" "Mhm."

"Well, we all planned a little surprise for you!" George smiled. "You did? Why?" "Because you deserve it!"

Clay then left after whispering something to George.

"So, you know how around when we first met you, you watched the movie 'Up' for the first time?" George said. I nodded. "Yeah, I know." "And you said you wished you had your very own Dug?"

I was slightly confused.

"Well..." George started. Clay came back holding a small Golden Retriever puppy. "We got your your own Dug!" George finished. "Unless you wanna rename him." He added.

I was lost from words and I could feel tears welling in my eyes as I covered my open mouth. Clay came over and handed him to me. He was so cute. He was wearing a little bow tie around his neck that was actually a collar.

I hugged the puppy close to me and let tears far down my face.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love him!" I said. He started licking the salty tears from my face and I couldn't help myself from laughing. "Can he stay inside the house? Can he sleep in my bed with me?" I asked. "I don't see why not!" Clay said.

Dug sat on my lap staring up at me. He looked like he was smiling. I scratched his ears some.

"I love him. Thank you so much." I smiled. "I'm glad you love him." George smiled.

We shared many hugs and many cries that day. They had bought him a few toys that I was throwing around with him in the front yard. He was a very smart dog. We potty trained him in just five days. Now whenever he needs to use the bathroom, he smacks a little jingle bell that hands from the door handle. We also thought him not to run away.

I could have never asked for a better dog.

I could have never asked for a better family.

I could have never asked for a better home.

I could have never asked for...a better life.
