both wonwoo and mingyu left the cafe after bidding their goodbyes to the lee family. mingyu brought wonwoo to a small park near the cafe to chill and hang for a bit.the reason for doing so?
mingyu wanted to get to know the shy and mysterious boy.
they sat on a bench and enjoyed the rustling noise of the trees swaying from side to side as the strong gusts of wind hit the area. with both of them sitting at a comfortable distance from each other, mingyu couldn't help but to admire the raven boy as he looked over at the fountain that spewed no water.
"isn't this nice?" he asked, gaining only a subtle nod from the other. mingyu didn't know what to say as wonwoo tend to respond with such short words or movements that were barely recognisable. he sat a little closer to the elder, making wonwoo flustered as his cheeks flushed with bright red. he thanked the dim lights, otherwise he would've been caught getting shy over the taller.
wonwoo panned his focus on the empty fountain as he took in a breath of fresh air, making all of his worries go away in an instant. he didn't want this little moment they had to be over anytime soon.
things didn't really go well with wonwoo as drops of rain start to crash down the surface of the hard concrete. neither of them had an umbrella in their hands, but mingyu had a better idea in mind.
"let's run to my place right now, i live nearby the cafe, just at the opposite." he giggled as he stood up to prepare for a fun night. wonwoo furrowed his brows, in confusion. he didn't know what got him flustered, the fact that he was crashing at mingyu's place or the fact they were going to run in the rain.
"you're crazy." wonwoo crossed his arms in disbelief. not moving from his spot, mingyu grabbed his wrists and took him out of the shelter that was protecting them from the rain. only then they were soaked as mingyu dragged him all the way to his building.
they ran through the pouring rain, making their shirts stick to their bare skin. wonwoo noticed the wide smile that was plastered on mingyu's face, the canines showing in mingyu's grin as they ran off like they were the only ones on earth warmed wonwoo.
like he has something, most specifically a someone, a home.
they caught a breath in front of mingyu's estate, panting and gasping for air since they ran for 10 minutes or so. wonwoo was facing mingyu's back, he noticed the defined muscles that were sticking out of his wet shirt. mingyu turned around, facing the shocked wonwoo.
"i told you it would be fun." mingyu giggled, putting a small smile on wonwoo's face. this was one of the first time wonwoo genuinely enjoyed someone's company, apart from seokmin of course.
"you idiot, now i don't have any clothes to sleep in." wonwoo pinched his nose bridge in annoyance. he didn't want to go home and get scolded by his parents for coming home all drenched in the rain. the thought of being blamed yet again had caused wonwoo to panic and stress out in front of mingyu.
"hey, hey, hey. is everything all right?" mingyu asked with concern. wonwoo simply shook his head and was on the verge of breaking down. with no words spoken, mingyu pulled wonwoo in for a hug. with their wet clothes sticking to each other, wonwoo eventually calmed down.
"thank you." wonwoo thanked the taller for the warm comfort despite barely knowing much about him. mingyu patted his wet hair and smiled, making wonwoo's heart flutter in confusion.
"we should head inside and dry ourselves up, shouldn't we?" mingyu and wonwoo entered the building to take the elevator to his flat.
the door opened with mingyu and wonwoo quietly entering the apartment, not wanting to wake mingyu's grandma up as it was past 1 in the morning. wonwoo widened his eyes in the interior, which looked way better than the outside.
the flat was painted in white and the furniture were beige to match the rooms. the floor was made of pearly white marble and just stepping on it would send shivers down your spine. the spiral staircase in the corner got wonwoo questioning how there were two separate floors in one apartment. wonwoo made sure not to get as many things in mingyu's place possibly wet because he didn't know how much they could cost, probably a fortune.
though it was inevitable to enter mingyu's room without drops of water dripping a trail across the halls, mingyu giggled at how wonwoo miserably failing at attempting to do so. they both entered mingyu's room and dry themselves up.
"your room looks very cosy." wonwoo admired the room as he noticed the led lights being lit up. mingyu, with a towel around his neck, smiled at the compliment as he took some clothes from his closet and gave them to wonwoo, along with a fresh towel for him to shower.
"you go first, i need to catch up with school work." mingyu sat on his bed and took out his laptop. wonwoo nodded and headed to the bathroom.
wonwoo changed into mingyu's dry clothes. the oversized t-shirt made wonwoo looked much smaller than he already was when being next to mingyu, making mingyu smile at the scenery.
mingyu closed his laptop and head to the bathroom to wash up as well. wonwoo didn't know what to do except sitting on the bed and wait for mingyu. his legs hung off the mattress as he swung them and admired the decor of mingyu's room.
mingyu got out of the shower with only a towel wrapping around his waist. apparently, he forgot to take his pyjamas into the bathroom with him. wonwoo was bewildered at the scene, drops of water dripping down his wet hair and onto his bare chest with his muscles luminated as light reflected on it.
he instantly looked away, not wanting to show off the bright pink cheeks that were exposed on his face. "sorry, i think i didn't mean to stare..." wonwoo apologised. "don't worry about it, we're both guys anyways." he smiled. wonwoo nodded as he still didn't look back at mingyu.
mingyu chuckled as he went to his wardrobe to retrieve the clothes he was supposed to get in the first place. he went back to the bathroom to get changed, not wanting to put wonwoo on the spot if he'd changed in the bedroom.
mingyu closed his bathroom door as he stepped out of it. he sat next to wonwoo, who was still flustered at what happened earlier. mingyu patted wonwoo on the head and they talked for quite a while.
mingyu explained how he knew wonwoo just from the sound of his voice in discord, making wonwoo more embarrassed than ever. how can he face him again after talking to his supposed online friend about the same person?
they talked for over an hour as they got to know each other. many laughs and jokes here and there. wonwoo tried opening up about his situation back at home, making mingyu glad to hear all of his struggles. he didn't want wonwoo to keep all of his suppressed emotions to himself and break down even more later on.
"we should head to bed, wonwoo, it's getting pretty late." mingyu yawned in exhaustion. wonwoo nodded and left the room, only to be stopped by a grab on his wrist.
"where are you going?" he asked, raising his eyebrow not knowing where wonwoo was heading to. "to the couch?" wonwoo replied as he looked down at his wrist where mingyu was grabbing. mingyu let go of wonwoo and took the duvets off his bed, allowing some space for a person to snuggle in.
"you're sleeping here." mingyu pointed at his own bed. wonwoo shook his head and refused to sleep there because it was mingyu's house to begin with. mingyu furrowed his brows with a little pout forming on his lips.
"i'm not sleeping there gyu. that's your bed, not mine." wonwoo crossed his arms, causing mingyu to push him towards the bed. wonwoo stumbled a little bit as he accepted his defeat and slept on mingyu's bed.
"but how about you? where are you going to sleep?" wonwoo asked. mingyu smiled and tucked wonwoo in as he laid comfortably.
"i'll be the one sleeping on the couch. you can stay in bed for as long as you want, i'll be heading to school in the morning anyways." mingyu stood straight up before leaving wonwoo alone in his own room.
"goodnight wonwoo."
"goodnight mingyu."
