This chapter is very boring but I have to start somehow, and I want to introduce the characters to you.

Flashback 4 years ago (Part 1)

"Allison, come down. We have to go to Sheila's." I hear Veronica calling from downstairs while her high heels are making noises one floor below me.

No matter how many times I tell her, that I can hear her loud shoes upstairs in my room, and that she has woken me up with them before, she still wears them in the morning, making loud noises through the whole house.

I turn off my little TV, which is playing my favorite show, gilmore girls, while I stretch my body in my bed, since I woke up twenty minutes ago because of V's screams.

V wants to go to Sheila's to get her wedding dress made for her upcoming fake wedding with Kevin. Kev and V recently got engaged, but it turned out that Kev is already married, so they can't get married for real.

The fact that I didn't know that my brother has a wife hurt me a lot because I thought my brother and I would tell each other everything, especially since our connection is so strong after all what happened.

I've loved weddings since I was little, and I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't like weddings. Unfortunately, I've only been to one wedding in my life so far, and it was pretty boring.

I slowly get out of my cozy bed, which has given me just the right amount of warmth under my covers, since it's freezing cold here in Chicago at the moment, and step out of my room.

I'm still wearing my black leggings and sweatshirt from Kevin, since we're just going to watch V try on the clothes today anyway, and I don't need anything fancy for that.

"Come on, I want to get this done." I hear Veronica say after she sees me on the stairs before I take my coat, and pull it over my arms with a grin on my face.

She's super stressed about the wedding, but I know that she's looking forward to it and is having fun with the whole thing. I mean, Kevin is the love of her life, and I just know the two of them will be together forever. Maybe they'll get married someday for real.

I'm really happy that they found each other. They are just great together, and I can see how happy they are in their relationship. Veronika has become like a mother to me over the years, and since she is sometimes as strict as a mother, that fits quite well.

"Where's Kevin?" I deliberately change the subject, and flop down on the couch to put my shoes on while V stands by the door, waiting for me to get done. I really don't know anyone who is as impatient as Veronika, but I'm used to it by now.

"He's getting a suit with Steve." She replies, and opens the door before storming out while I get back up, and quickly follow her outside. As soon as I leave the house, the cold wind hits me, and I get goosebumps all over my body.

It's winter in Chicago at the moment, so there's snow on the streets and icicles are already forming on the houses. I hate being cold, but since it's minus degrees at the moment, I can't avoid it unfortunately.

"Wait." I call after her when I see that she is already on her way to Sheila's and is a few feet away from me. I start running to close the distance between us while she looks at me annoyed, but with a small smile on her face. I know she just can't be mad at me for a long time.

After the short walk to Sheila's house, she rings the front doorbell, and seconds later, a grinning Sheila opens the door.

I'm already taking my shoes off since Sheila always wants us to do this because of her illness. She has this thing, where she can't leave her house, and completely freaks out when something dirty comes into her house.
