If I owned the Harry Potter series, I wouldn't make it as though Hufflepuff are just the leftovers from the other Houses.

I can die happily knowing that the fandom are now beating the shit outta the people who stick with the stereotypes.

No cheers were heard from the table, instead it was just a few half-hearted clapping, Kaiton took off the Sorting Hat, stepped off the stool, and searched through the Gryffindor House table for Xavier. She found him sitting next to Ron; both were gawking at her.

Quickly shifting her gaze to the stone filled floor, she made her way to the back of the hall. As Kaiton took each step, she racked her brain to figure out what the problem was, was it bad?

When she sat down, the Slytherins that sat inches away then scooted a few feet within seconds, their neighbors staring at her in disgusted way.

Kaiton's face was screwed up in thought, she buried her hands in her hair, scratching her scalp.

What was their problem?

It took a while, but the name "Zeller, Rose" was sorted into Hufflepuff. Professor McGonagall picked up the hat and stool and marched them away as the Headmaster, Professor Dumbledore, rose to his feet.

His half-moon spectacles were perched neatly onto his long and crooked nose, his robes looking formal but odd at the same time.

"To our newcomers, "he said in a ringing voice, his arms stretched wide and a cheery smile on his lips, "welcome! To our old hands — welcome back! There is a time for speech making, but this is not it. Tuck in!"

A grateful laugh ringed and an outbreak of applause ringed through the Great Hall as Dumbledore sat neatly and threw his long silver-haired bear over his shoulder so as to keep it out of the way of his plate — for food had appeared out o no where, an awe of surprise and delight were bounced off the walls for Kaiton to hear all over.

Dishes of pies, veggies, bread, sauces, meat, and flagons of pumpkin juice were magically filled as soon as the Headmaster sat down.

"Can you pass the potatoes, please?" Kaiton asked louder than normal so as to be heard from the large distance and chatter that erupted.

The Slytherin next to her gave a grimace before sliding it over.

"Thanks," Kaiton said, her tone half-awkward and half-questioning.

Can I sit with my brother? I would gladly sit with him than these rude things. If everyone here is like this, then I'm gonna feel ashamed of being here.

Kaiton looked around, hoping to see if this was allowed. Finally seeing a few House colors like blue and yellow, red and blue together, she figured it was okay to sit with another House.

Pushing forward her plate, she quickly made her way to the red-robed-wearing House table.

Kaiton walked past blue. Some didn't even notice her, others just stared.

Walking past yellow, they looked at her kindly, some waved. Kaiton greeted them with an awkward copy of their gestures.

Finally arriving at the crimson, those were the killer. A lot of them glared at her, few stared without clear emotion, a little looked at her with a 'wtf?' expression.

Looking at her shoulders, Kaiton realized her robes turned from green at the sashes, and the badge that used to bore the Hogwarts symbol, now had a silver serpent with an emerald background. The tie that used to be a plain black was now a jade with silver stripes streaked.
