I felt the sunlight on my eyelids as I slowly woke up. I looked around and realized that I was in an unfamiliar room, sitting up quickly in my futon.
'What happened?'
Flashbacks of last night came back to me and my head started to get dizzy just thinking about it.
'That was no way that could've happened last night, I thought. A land god. Me? And those yokai, it just couldn't have-'
"Good morning, Lord God of the Land!" The two yokai shouted in unison at the foot of my futon.
'-happened...'
"And now if you please! Get right to it!" They said in unison again.
'I'm starting to think that's gonna be normal...' I thought.
'Wait-'
"Get right to what?" I questioned, tilting my head in confusion. My head was still a little dizzy from remembering all the events that happened last night.
"Your duties as a land god, Master!" Two, again, said in unison, leaning closer towards me. I froze hearing them call me Master and saying I have duties as a now, supposed, land god.
"Wait wait wait! Slow down..." I said, resting my face in my hands, taking a deep breath.
"This is all going so fast. I don't even know what I'm getting into, just explain to me this 'land god' thing, because last night's events were a little overwhelming." I ask, rubbing my temples to prevent a headache from coming.
"Of course, Master!" The two happily obliged.
And so, the two yokai explained to me about being a land god and why it's important for the land and the shrine, and most importantly the people. I let all the information slowly sink in while trying not to get overwhelmed again.
"Well, do you understand, Master Haru?" The two yokai chimed together in unison. "Okay, I can see why this is all so important." I said pinching the bridge of my nose.
"Okay, tell me what should I do?" I ask smiling at the two. The two jumped up, overjoyed by my words.
"First, we must clean the yard!" I quickly got dressed to get ready for the park I gotta do today. I began sweeping the yard until it was nice an clean.
