Griffin x reader

Griffin was the one classmate nobody ever spoke to. No one bothered to start a conversation with him. He sat always alone during lunch. Nobody picked him as partner for a project. Until Griffin and I were paired up during biology. 

I had never spoken to him, eventhough we were classmates for a long time. So it was like meeting a stranger. 

"Hi, I'm y/n" i said taking the seat next to Griffin.

He didn't even bother to look up. "I know."

"So, what are we going to do?" i asked

"If you expect that i'm going to do everything, you're wrong," Griffin sneered

"I don't" i said "We'll do this project together."

Griffin finally looked up to me, when he heard the honesty in my voice. He had skipped a year because he was too smart for his age, so people always assumed he was a nerd who'll do their homework for them. It surprised him that I wasn't like them. 

"Okay, let's do this project then"

"I can't believe you're paired with that nerd Griffin" Vance said during lunch. We were all sitting at a table. Bruce, Robin, Finney, Billy, Vance and me.

"Don't call him that. He's really nice, actually" I said

"If you're going to leave us for him, I'm going to introduce that little guy to my fists" Robin said looking from me to Griffin. I just rolled my eyes.

"Oh shit" I said looking at the clock.

"What?" Griffin asked looking up

"We've only got a few minutes left before the lesson ends. And the deadline is tomorrow" 

"Oh shit indeed" Griffin responded looking at our very much not done assignment. We had been talking all lesson and hadn't been working very actively. We'd learned a lot about each other, but not about the assingment. 

Griffin wasn't quiet at all. He was actually very outspoken and had opinions about everything. He had a weird but funny sense of humour and was just a really nice guy. And it's a shame nobody ever talks to him. 

"i guess we'll have to do it at home" Griffin said waking me up from my thoughts

"I geuss"

It went silent, neither of us wanted to invite the other home. Yes, we got along really well, but we weren't at that stage yet. The bell rang and we silently packed our stuff. 

"You can come to my house after school" Griffin eventually said. He scribbled down his address and left

"Where were you yesterday? You weren't at practice," Bruce asked the next day. 

"I'm sorry, I know I said I'd come, but I had to finish the biology project with Griffin," I aswered

"What?!! You skipped baseball for that little loser??!" Bruce said

"Don't call him that. And I'm sorry, alright," I said. I didn't even regret skipping baseball practice, it was fun with Griffin and eventhough it was school, we had a great time. The project was finished now, but I really hoped we'd continue to talk. 

"This is what I meant by them leaving us for little Stagg," Robin said to no one in particular. 

last timeskip

It is now a week later and Griffin and I are sitting in his room. We stayed friends after the project and the boys have come to terms with it. Billy and Finney are even friends with Griffin now. 

We are just talking about nothing in particular. It doesn't really matter. Griffin says something and we both laugh really hard. When we stop, we're very close to eachother. Griffin quickly backs away, but I stay. 

"You know, Griffin, I really like you," I whisper 

Griffin blushes lightly. "In a friend way?"

"No, not in a friend way," I say, moving closer

Griffin's cheeks turn more red. "I also like you in a not a friend way."

I lean over him and kiss him softly on his lips. His face has the color of a tomato now. "Do you want to be my boyfriend?"

"Yes" He says and I kiss him again.
