Tomioka awoke ever-so-slowly, confused for a second before he realized he was in the Butterfly Estate, he felt extremely dizzy and he had a pounding headache that felt like he was being shot over and over again endlessly.
He noticed something warm resting on his chest taking deep shaky breaths, he looked down startled before he realized it was Sanemi, fucking, Shinazugawa.
He also noticed that it seemed he had been crying, sobbing even. His hair was even more of a mess than usual and he had dried tear streaks running down his face, and what's even weirder is that Tomioka felt the urge to kiss the sleeping boy's forehead.
Tomioka flushed a deep red and shook his head internally as an attempt to extinguish the thought, just then Sanemi started to stir awake. He opened his eyes and blinked a few times trying to remember where he was, then he notice Tomioka and lunged at him.
Tomioka braced himself for an attack only to be met with a tight hug. "You idiot! I thought you died!" Tomioka stifled a chuckle, and hugged him back. "Well I'm fine now aren't I? Also since when did you care about me??"
Now it was Sanemi's turn to blush, "I guess i always have?? Look I'm really sorry, I've never really been good at expressing my emotions and I've never really had anyone to teach me how to either."
Tomioka squeezed him tighter, and said almost in a whisper, "Neither have I, I had lost basically everyone and everything that I loved and cared for greatly by the time i was 13. I began to see myself as 'unworthy' and as a 'bad omen.'"
"How'd you stop believing that?"
"...I didn't." Sanemi's eyes widened at that, "You shouldn't think of yourself as such, whether you choose to believe it or not, we all worked hard to get to the ranks we are at now and we all are deserving of them."
Tomioka let out a soft chuckle, Sanemi was relatively surprised that he could even laugh in the first place.
"Sorry for laughing, but I would of never believed 10 minutes ago that something that sappy would come out of your mouth." "Well I would've never believed that it was possible for you to laugh."
They shared a light laugh at that, but then Sanemi's eyes started to grow heavy again. He yawned and laid back down attempting to get comfortable.
"Am i really that comfortable?" "Yes, yes you are." Sanemi mumbled before dozing off, Tomioka not too far behind him.
