"Don't forget to bring your father his lunch on the way" my mother yells as I pack the lunchboxes and leave for the door.
today marks 3 months since I got accepted into a special scientific biochemist program, it's on the same station as my dad, the ark station medical whereas my mother and my best friend are from the Agro station. even though I was raised and taught on the agro station, I have always been interested in the scientific side of the ark.
because of my father, I am advanced in my field for my age, and thanks to my photographic memory, I have another advantage.
I walk past the corner on my corridors and I walk into my best friends.
"Monty, Jasper!" I pause "what are you doing here?" I can't hide the excitement in neither my voice nor body language and hug them both.
"Happy 3 months," they say while doing some kind of hand movements I can't even begin to describe.
"you look awfully stupid"
I see Jasper's cute smile fade, and I start laughing "but I still love it, thank u" I give them both a kiss on the cheek, Jaspers's smile going from one ear to the other, and Monty's face turning bright pink.
"but I need to get going now, and you will be late too"
"yeah yeah, typical Hazel, always the perfectionist," Jasper says, I nod with a smile and leave as I wave and walk towards my father's workstation. Ever since I'd been accepted into the program, everything's been going great. Of course, there's the exception of some guy from the program, he's a real dick. But hey, who cares.
I walk into my dad's workstation, I don't see anyone which is weird, my dad's break should be in an hour. I furrow my brows a little in confusion. I heard something drip in the silence and look towards my dad's usual chair. I walk towards it in confusion, and that's when I spot it. Red liquid oozing from my father's chair. I hurry towards it and pull out the chair.
"Oh my god!" I gasp, tears pricking my eyes as I look at the body, half on top of my father's chair and half on the floor. He's bleeding out of his eyes, ears, and mouth. I feel some vomit threaten to escape and hurry outside. By now, tears have escaped and I run over to the nearest guard. "Please, there's a dead man in there," I cry
.....
"Relax, they'll figure it all out, Hazel" My mother reassures me for like the 100th time. I look at the guards who are talking with my dad. His fist is clenched and he's clearly distressed. Suddenly two guards and Commander Shumway walk toward us. A piece of paper clutched tightly in his hand.
"Mrs. Grey, please step away from your daughter" He commands and I look at my mom in confusion. She gives me an assuring nod before letting go of me and the two guards walk up on both sides of me and grip me tightly. "You are hereby arrested for the murder of Councilman Jeremiah"
"What? No! I didn't do it, please!" I scream loudly as I thrash around in the guard's arms, trying to free myself from them but they don't budge.
"You are under 18, so your case will be reviewed again when you're of age," Shumway's says, almost robot-like and I look at my parents, their faces a blur cause of the tears.
"Mom, dad, I didn't do it, please, believe me," I cry but they both look at me with shame in their eyes and shake their head at me and a paper is suddenly shoved into my face.
"There was a man-made toxin in the councilman's blood, a toxin that was found on one of your shelves, Miss Grey," Shumway states before nodding his head at the guards. I scream loudly as they drag me away. I call for my parents but they both look at me in disgust.

Ação***** PAUSED ***** Being wrongfully accused of murder and thrown into a cell isn't exactly pleasant for Hazel Selene Grey. Being thrown in a drop-ship on its way down to Earth to see if it's survivable. That's pleasant. It is science and she lives...
