"Hey chat..." a disembodied voice greeted. The chat returned the greeting. Currently the stream had 5.2K viewers, Xiao waited a bit more, preparing his equipment and adjusting his headphones.
"Today we're just going to play some Mortuary Assistant and do some Q and A," he said, "and, uh, I may look a little different today."
Xiao finally turned on his camera, and the chat exploded with untamed comments on his appearance. The door to his room swung open and Aether flung himself towards Xiao, hugging him from behind.
"YOU WORE THE CAT EAR HEADPHONES I GAVE YOU!!!" Aether yelled. He nuzzled Xiao's neck affectionately. Xiao's eyes widened at the sudden outburst and he ruffled Aether's hair, blushing. Aether's arms were draped around Xiao's chest and his hoodie sleeve had been rolled up slightly, revealing a scar tearing from his forearm to the bend of his elbow. Instantly, the chat flooded with questions on how he had gotten the scar, moving on from the headphones.
"Oooh, chat, you wanna know how I got my scar? Sure!" Aether grinned as Xiao rolled his eyes, faking calmness. Aether began to tell the story:
"It was your average rainy Friday night and I was walking across the street to grab some snacks for my dorm buddies after school. I think I slipped and fell or something, but I ended up on the road in front of a car. It's alright, chat, I wasn't scared, just kind of confused. But I'm alright now! It doesn't hurt, so don't worry!" Aether flexed his arm and swung it around without wincing in pain, like he used to. Xiao's heart was beating steadily faster. He logged into The Mortuary Assistant to distract himself.
"Is that a horror game? I'm out of here. Bye chat!" Aether exited the room and closed the door behind him, leaving Xiao alone with his stream.
"Sorry about that, chat. My boyfriend can be... weird at times," Xiao whispered, incase Aether was still outside and able to hear him. But the chat really didn't mind, they loved Xiaother (the ship name) and were happy to welcome Aether's impromptu presence now and then during streams.
The stream continued as per normal, and ended after 3 hours.

"Venti, wait. Venti, wait, you're gonna-" Kazuha could be heard warning and chiding Venti for being useless in the kitchen. Xiao opened his room door and was greeted by a plate of tomato sauce. He ducked a second too late. His white shirt (the only thing he used bleach on) was now stained red, and his cheek was throbbing from the plastic bowl smacking his face.
"Venti..." he growled.
Venti was cowering in a corner of the dormitory kitchen, shaking in fear.
"S-Sorry, Xiao..." Venti whimpered. The tomato sauce on Xiao looked more like blood, considering the murderous look he was giving Venti. Aether was trying to hold Xiao back from slaughtering his friend, while Kazuha wiped up the mess.
"Hey guys! I'm back!" a soothing voice announced. Heizou kicked off his shoes and removed his airpods from his ears.
"Hey, Heizou! How was volleyball practice?" Kazuha asked while he disposed the wipes used to clean the floor.
"Uuuuuh, hold on. Did Venti fall and throw sauce on Xiao? Ugh, Venti..." Heizou groaned, massaging his temples. "Please be careful."
Venti nodded, teary eyed. Aether gave him a hug, telling him that it was the floor's fault not his because he had slipped and fallen. Xiao sighed and returned to his room to shower and change. Kazuha began to set the table for dinner while Heizou went to take a shower. Venti and Aether carried on watching the pasta, and then setting the pot on the table.
Xiao came out wearing a sleeveless black shirt, baggy jeans and a frown. His hair was still wet from his shower. Heizou was already seated at the dining table with his gigantic brown shirt and spectacles.
"So guys, our performance is coming up, and we still haven't decided what song we want to sing," reminded Aether. Venti choked on his pasta and started coughing dramatically.
"WHAT? WE'RE SO SCREWED!!" he screamed melodramatically. Kazuha and Xiao sighed in unison, while Heizou pulled out his phone to check his schedule. Volleyball took up most of his time, and the rest was filled with school.
"I'm free on Sundays and Wednesdays," Heizou said, after examining his messy schedule. Kazuha nodded, and added that he was free everyday as long as it weren't too often because he needed to study. Xiao was free on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. Venti was free everyday, no matter what, and Aether promised to clear up his time for 5wirl.
"So we'll have practice on Sunday, Wednesday and all that time Xiao isn't streaming then, simple as that. We can pick a song now," Heizou suggested, winking.
"IFUDOUDOU!!!" Venti screamed, standing up and spreading is arms apart to assert dominance. Aether laughed uncontrollably and nearly fell off his chair.
"Yeah right, Venti! I'd like to see you try to sing that!" Heizou snickered. Kazuha, who could sense a storm brewing, stood up to clear the plates and dishes. Xiao got up to help him, leaving Heizou and Venti for Aether to handle.

"So, how's your relationship with Aether going?" Kazuha asked, as he washed a plate. Xiao picked up a bowl and began to scrub it vigorously.
"Fine. Why?" he responded. Kazuha shrugged. "Just asking."
Behind them, they could hear Venti insisting that the team should go for a song that would hype the school up. Heizou was screaming that they should go for something relaxing and supportive because it was nearing the exam season. Aether was in the middle of the argument, trying to quieten them down.
Xiao watched his boyfriend from the kitchen sink, silently enjoying the view of his flustered face and messy hair.
"He's beautiful, isn't he?" Kazuha mumbled to Xiao, quietly so only he could hear.
Xiao growled under his breath.
"He's also mine."
