So while Aether is recovering in the hospital, you guys get to spend time with 5wirl/6reeze and Lumine's friend group! My reason for grouping her with characters that rarely interact was because I thought it would be interesting to see how they react to each other and how well they click. Please remember that they may be OOC because I haven't played Genshin in months (it's been my longest burnout yet someone pls help me), I apologise in advance! Also, because I use Aether as the traveller, I'm interpreting Lumine based on how I think she would be, so she is prob very OOC. hv fun reading :)
⸻ Monday, 2.30 pm
"I... CAN'T RUN ANYMORE!" Venti whined as he ran laps around the field. Kazuha and Scaramouche ran far beyond him, while Heizou jogged along side Venti. He definitely wasn't out of breath (like Venti was), but didn't want Venti to jog alone. As they ran, Heizou insulted Venti's obnoxious colour choice for his jogging shoes. They were a bright neon orange, and radiated a sickly light. Then, of course, they had to get into a heated debate about the shoes, to which Heizou won.
Meanwhile, Xingyan sprinted like she had a rocket attached to her, and was zooming across the track. She was a monster when it came to sports, not like Xiao - who had intense focus and precise movements. Xingyan was like a ball of fire exploding with joy and passion when it came to sports, and, not to mention, music.
Collei also ran reasonably fast, having recovered from eleazar. Her form was perfect and her eyes were determined.
Amber and Yoimiya were side by side, running at a constant pace, and chatting. They seemed to click easily, both with similar interests.
And Lumine was far ahead of everyone, sprinting effortlessly as she completed her final lap. She usually did this well when her thoughts were astray, when she thought about things unrelated to running. Today, she was thinking of her brother.
Xiao had skipped school and spent all the time he could in the hospital, by Aether's side. A dedicated lover. Lumine also found it insanely difficult to fall asleep, no matter the number of pills she took.
Would Aether recover and be back to his usual self? Would this incident scar him permanently, like a few other occurrences? Would he blame her, Lumine, his sister, for not watching out for him? Would he beat himself up for not being able to defend himself?
Lumine had never felt so overwhelmed in her life. It hadn't been the first time Aether had been bullied, definitely, but never as bad as this.
Lumine did some cool down exercises, and drank some water. She watched her friends run.
Venti and Heizou were still bickering like children. Immature. Could they really provide enough support to her brother? Kazuha and Scaramouche ran in silence. They seemed so closed off, so could Aether really talk to them when he needed help?
Yoimiya and Amber seemed better off without Lumine. The smiled and talked to easily, and how long had they known each other? A few months. Lumine had known both of them for years, and introduced them a while ago. Why did they laugh more with each other, than when they were with her? Was something wrong with her?
Lumine sighed, and started humming under her breath a few songs her brother had composed.
They seemed fine without her. Better, even.
Oh, how she wished her brother would hurry and recover.
