I eyed my outfit carefully in the mirror, pondering on whether or not it looked good. It was a bonfire, so I didn't want to be to overdressed but I had to look presentable. I was going to be alpha soon, I had to look serious but not to serious.

"Mira!" My mother yelled for me downstairs, her tone letting me know she was in a hurry. Patting down my jeans I decided the outfit was good enough, knowing if I took any longer I would probably be dragged out my room. Letting out a sigh I swung my hair over my shoulders before turning and leaving the room.

Tonight, the new neighbourhood pack was having a welcoming party and invited all neighbouring packs to come and make peace. They were crystal clear that they didn't want any sort of violence or grievance, which I liked. But I still needed to make sure it wasn't a coy act, I needed their word. Alpha to well future alpha.

I would soon be the new alpha to my pack, I needed to prove I would be a good leader despite the fact everyone in our pack was beaming for my take over. Nobody doubted that I would let them down, but I couldn't give them a reason to either. They needed to see for themselves that they were right to not doubt, I can't let them have any doubts.

I knew I was putting a lot of extra pressure on myself, our pack was lovable and kind. Sure we were strong and devoted to each other, but we were more a big family than anything else. Everybody knew everybody and we were friendly.

Except towards vampires, we didn't normally come across them and most of those that we did wanted no fight whatsoever. They simply wanted to pass through. Most vampires I had encountered were no threat and quite pleasant, but of course there are always a few that were rotten.

"Yes, mama?" I asked as I walked in to the kitchen where my mother stood with her hands on her hips, grumbling at my father who was pouring three glasses of champagne. I smiled at her flustered state, knowing she was always wanting to get wherever we needed to go in such a rush, but she gets herself so worked up over nothing.

"We have to get going but of course your father just has to have his little toast!" My mom, Hana Chul sighed gesturing to my father who handed her a glass of champagne. A giggle slipped through my lips at the two bickering. They were both so silly.

"Honey, our daughter has just turned twenty one and is on her way to becoming an exceptional alpha, we have time for one toast." My dad, Jun Chul beamed happily bringing a smile to both our faces. My dad was my biggest supporter, he was always the first to celebrate every accomplishment and milestone I did. He was the best, they both were.

I whisked a quick spell, chilling our drinks as we all clinked our glasses together. I wasn't an ordinary wolf, I was also a witch. It had come as a shock to my parents and our pack the night I was born, a half witch half wolf. But the moon goddess had a reason for everything, she had given me these gifts for a reason. To do good, to protect. I thanked her every day.

"Happy birthday baby, you're growing up so fast and I am so proud of you." Mom let out sweetly, all of us gulping down the champagne and placing our flutes down on the counter. I could see the few tears building in her eyes before she blinked them away, not wanting to ruin her makeup.

"Thank you, both of you." I smiled at my parents, grateful for their continuous love and support. I wouldn't have gotten where I have today if it weren't for them and I'd forever be grateful. My mom clapped her hands, grabbing the house keys and rushed us outside. Most of the pack had already left for the party of the new pack, Bangtan. The name was odd but I was interested to meet the new alpha, I knew nothing of him and his pack. I only hoped his intentions were good.

The walk wasn't far before we headed in to the neighbouring territory. I smiled happily seeing some from my pack talking to the neighbouring pack, everyone smiling and laughing. They all seemed to be getting along and it eased me slightly. There was a massive bond fire with blazing flames, loud music, and happy faces. There were food stalls and drink tables all around. Everything seemed amazing, the kids were all playing together. The adults all talking and entertaining. I knew then that I didn't have to worry.
