Promise - A VP Fanfiction

Chapter 9

Few minutes ago

Pete was still worried about Vegas, whether his anger has cooled down or not so he went out to check on him. When he went outside he saw him with Tawan but it looked like they were arguing so he hid himself behind the wall and listen

"Yeah I know, but you are never this angry when some guy talk to me like that" he heard Tawan say

"I know but it's different between Pete and you"

"What's the difference Vegas?" Pete heard which got him curious he also wanted to know

"You can protect yourself Tawan but Pete, he-he can't he was never trained to protect himself, all his life he was protected by his family because they loved him so much" Pete didn't expect that answer

"So Vegas are you saying that you love him" Pete's heart stopped beating he wanted to know if Vegas also felt the same

Vegas didn't answer he was silent for a while and his curiosity increased

"So Vegas are you in love with Pete answer me?" Tawan asked again

"No I'm not" Vegas answered, this answer broke Pete's heart but he continued to listen on

"Then why are you so upset about it, does he mean so much to you" Tawan asked further

"No baby, he doesn't" Pete heard Vegas say, this broke him more than before, it hurt so much that tears were starting to flow down his cheeks

"Then why do you care for him so much" he heard Tawan say

"I care about him because I promised his mom that I would take care of him but I had to move to US and couldn't do it so the guilt and sense of responsibility built up inside which is making me over protective for him" Vegas said

"Are you sure you feel nothing about for him?"

"Yeah babe I'm sure" with each word Pete's heart broke further and more tears started flowing

"So he means nothing to you?"

"Yeah yeah he means nothing to me"Vegas added further

Pete thought "So I mean nothing to him NOTHING" he laughed, it was okay to him if Vegas didn't love him like he do but atleast he wanted to mean something to him but that hope is also broken he meant nothing to Vegas, he stepped out of the place he was hiding and saw Vegas hugging Tawan, his eyes were closed he looked at the beautiful face of Vegas one last time but suddenly Vegas opened his eyes. Their eyes meet for a brief second but Pete broke the eye contact and turned to run away. Away from someone whom he loved and someone who hurt him continuously without intention.

He ran away without caring about anybody he wanted to go  as far  away as possible. He ran and ran until he reached his secret hide out, it's the first house that his father brought when he started earning, it's the house where he shared most of his memory with his mom. After they moved, his mother still used to come there often his mother adored this house because it was their first house and it was here that Pete took his first step and where he first started talking, after his mother's death his father still maintained this house cause it has her memories. Pete also often visited it, most of the time he came to find peace or when he really missed her, this house felt so warm like his mother's embrace.

Pete entered the house and sat down on the sofa, there was a photo of his mother on the side table he took it and hugged

"Mom I miss you, I miss you so much, it hurts mom it hurts so much, you know Vegas said that he doesn't love me, he said I mean nothing to him, he said he is protective over me because he promised you that he would protect me, I waited so much for him to come back mom, I loved him so much I didn't even look at anyone when he went to US, whenever anybody tried to flirt with me I ignored them because I wanted to stay loyal to  him, I was excited when he moved back to Bangkok I was ready to confess but he came back with his boyfriend so I was ready to give up because he already had a lover and I didn't want to hurt him but I atleast hoped that even if he doesn't love me I meant something to him but I was wrong all along I mean nothing to him mom nothing"

Pete cried hugging his mom's photo and lay down on the floor with tears still flowing down his face.

At the University

"What tears? Perth" Saint shouted

"I don't why he was crying but he sure was crying" Perth answered

"But when he went out he was fine, why was he crying suddenly" Saint questioned

"Forget about it, first let's find him" Perth said

"You're right, Saint you are his bestfriend you should know where he goes in this kind of situation right?" Tawan asked

"He usually goes to a pub we frequent but it is being renovated now so he may not be there, and he won't go home if he is crying because he doesn't want his grandma to worry" Saint said

"Then is there any other place he goes to when he is down" Vegas said

"I think I know where he is" Saint said while looking at their faces

"So let's go there now" Vegas said

"Vegas I think you shouldn't, he was mad at you before he went out and now that he is crying he may not want you to see him like that so it's better if you stay here, I and Perth will go comfort him" Saint said, he was in doubt that for whatever reason Pete was crying somehow it is related to Vegas and if Vegas went with them Pete may not tell them about what happened.

"Okay if you think so" Vegas said a bit upset

"Let's go then" Perth said.Saint and Perth were about to leave when Vegas called out to them

"Saint, Perth, please look after him ok" he said

They both looked at him and said

"We will" they said and ran away towards the direction where Pete went.

"I think we all should go home too it's enough for tonight" someone said and everybody nod in agreement and slowly started dispersing

"Vegas we should go home too" Tawan said

"Yea yes we should" Vegas said and packed his things and left with Tawan, he dropped Tawan off at his condo and drove back to his own condo and while he was driving he could only think of one person Pete

"I'm sorry Pete, for saying all that I know I hurt you but please forgive me if you could"
