Promise - A VP Fanfiction

Chapter 11

Pete had been ignoring Vegas for the past few days and he wanted to keep it that way but it seems like Vegas's plans are different. He has been trying to talk to Pete but Pete doesn't even give him a chance. Vegas waited for him after class to talk to him but he couldn't talk to him as Saint dragged Pete away before Vegas could reach him, he even texted and call him but he didn't read his text or answer his call.

But it couldn't go on for long because it was the day of the orientation ceremony and Vegas's team was handling the most crucial part of the planning so Pete had to communicate with them and also with Vegas but he tried to keep it to minimum.

The ceremony was going as planned and Pete was relieved when the ceremony was over successfully, he and his team wanted to celebrate it so they went to a restaurant near the university. When everyone was seated the class president stood up and said

"Everybody let's say thanks to Pete for organizing this event so successfully and to Vegas and his team for handling most of the work"

The crowd cheered for them and the feast finally started, after sometime Pete excused himself to go to the bathroom. Vegas saw him going toward the bathroom and followed him. When he went to the bathroom Pete was washing his hand in the sink, he looked at him through the mirror above the sink, he looked at him with anger and tried to went outside but Vegas pulled him by his arm stopping him before reaching the door.

"Vegas let me go" Pete said and tried to free himself from Vegas's grip but Vegas was a lot stronger then him and his grip was hard to shake off,

"Pete listen to me,"

"Listen to what Vegas, I have nothing to hear from you"

"Pete, please I can explain"

Pete glared at him and said

"What can you explain Vegas? That I'm nothing to you, that you only care for me because of a promise, and that our friendship meant nothing to you,then stop caring about me, I'm an adult I can look after myself you don't have to babysit me you are free to live your life as you want without worrying about me. Now let go of me"

Pete tried to free himself from his grip but Vegas pulled him and pinned him to the wall

"Pete please listen to me" Vegas begged

"No I don't wanna listen to you and let me go Vegas, let me go before you hurt me more than you already have"

Pete said with sadness in his eyes and when Vegas looked into his eyes he loosen his grip and let him go. Pete quickly went outside the bathroom and stand outside the door with tears in his eyes and mumbled

" I shouldn't have waited for you, I should have had moved on when I knew you have a boyfriend, I shouldn't have believed your promise, I shouldn't have loved you to this extent where it's only hurting me"

Pete wiped his tears and joined his classmates again, after sometime Vegas joined them but the atmosphere between them was so awkward that even people who didn't know about their conflict could feel it. But they didn't say anything as to not ruin the mood. The party went on till midnight by that time most of them were drunk as hell and those who weren't drunk were taking care of them.

Pete was also drunk as hell and Saint was having a hard time handling him, but he managed to dragged him to the parking lot and helping him to enter the car, when he entered the car and  was ready to start it he saw someone familiar and stopped, he saw Tawan standing there maybe waiting for Vegas, he wanted to inform him that Vegas has already left so he was about to call him when he stopped.

A car stopped right in front of Tawan, Saint watched on as Rome stepped out of the car and hugged Tawan, that's when he started recording what was happening in front of him, he recorded everything that happened he saw Tawan kissing Rome and then enter his car and left with him, Saint couldn't believe what he saw. Tawan, Vegas's boyfriend was kissing someone else.

He somehow felt that Vegas deserve it for hurting Pete, still Vegas was also his friend and he didn't want him to get hurt. He immediately called Vegas, he pick up after two rings

"Vegas where are you?"

"At my condo why?"

"And where is Tawan?"

"He went to his friends dorm to finish his project, why?"

"Nothing"

"Then why are you suddenly asking about Tawan"

"Oh-oh it's, it's my cousin, he wants to join the department of dentistry and wanted someone to tutor him and I only know Tawan from the department so wanted to ask him to tutor my cousin if he has some time" Saint lied

"Well he is pretty busy lately but I'll talk to him about this and let's see what happens"  Vegas answered

"Okay, thanks by the way"

"Saint,....."

"Yes..."

"Is Pete with you? Is he okay?"

Saint looked at his side to see a drunk Pete and said

"Yes he is with me and yes he is fine"

"Saint please take care of Pete ok,"  Vegas said in a sad tone

"I will" Saint said and hung up, he looked at a sleeping Pete he know that if Pete finds out that he talked to Vegas behind his back he will be angry but something in his heart tells him that Vegas can be trusted and that he loves Pete as much as Pete loves him but it's just that Vegas doesn't realise it.

He started the engine and started driving towards Pete's house. He wanted to tell Vegas that Tawan was cheating on him but he stopped himself, he has to collect more evidence to expose him.

After he dropped off Pete, he went to his condo and called someone, that person picked up his call after a few rings

"Hello phi, I want some help"

"What do you want me to do?" someone said from the other end of the phone

"Phi I want you to investigate this person as soon as possible"

"Okay sent the name of the person to me"

"Okay phi"

Saint said and sent Tawan's name and photo to him. He now just have to wait for the result.
