Persephone had proposed to Hades. Hades, after hesitating - he did not want to dishonour her mother, no matter how bad she acted - agreed. They were formally married in Olympus, all of the Gods and Goddesses present.
"Do you swear to be my beloved, for ever and ever?" Persephone asked, her round eyes emotional and tear-filled.
"I do."
