*Thank you @That_Jester_Kid for the request! Better late than never, right? Also yes, this book isn't dead!*
*During one of their dates, Yori notices that Himari is acting off, and takes it upon herself to help.*
*Himari POV*
No no no, why now, of all days?! Of all the times to get sick, why'd it have to be right before our date?! I should probably call it off... but it's been a week since we've seen each other, so calling it off now would just be cruel! No, no, I'll just endure it, for Yori-Senpai's sake! Like I'd let a cold stop me from seeing my lover! Wait, wouldn't that just get her sick as well? I don't want that! Maybe I'll just subtly keep my distance, oh, and I'll wear gloves so that I can still hold her hand. Heh, I'm a genius!
As I think that, I let out a loud sneeze. Well, better to get my sneezes out now, right? Ugh, if only my head wasn't pounding, but I'll endure this for Yori-senpai's sake!
*some time later, Yori POV*
Kino-san is late, we were supposed to meet here 10 minutes ago, I hope she's okay...
"Yori-Senpai! I'm so sorry that I'm late... I got a bit caught up, but I'm here now!" She exclaims as she runs up behind me. When I see her, I can immediately tell that something isn't right, she looks off. She looks out of breath, and she's practically drenched in sweat. And, wait, since when has she worn gloves?
"Kino-san... are you okay?" I ask, concerned. She takes a minute to catch her breath before she responds.
"Of course I am, I'm just a little tired, that's all. Nothing to worry about, I'll be fine. So, let's start the date, shall we?" She asks, grabbing my hand. She really seems to be trying to rush this, so something's definitely going on. But, I suppose I'll just figure that out later.
"If you're sure that you're fine, then let's do it. But if something is going on, please don't hesitate to tell me, I can't help you if I don't know what's wrong," I say, to which she responds with an obviously forced smile.
"Don't worry, if there was something wrong, I'd tell you," she replies, looking up at me with a smile. I can't help but blush, jeez, it's so unfair how cute she is sometimes.
"Yeah, l-let's go," I manage to stutter out as I lead her, hand in hand.
As we're doing some shopping, I notice a few odd expressions coming for Kino-San, but I couldn't really get a good look, because she'd revert back to a smile the second she noticed me looking at her. It's so clear that something is wrong, I just wish that she'd tell me what is was. Also, now that I think about it, she seems to be keeping her distance from me as well, like she's mortified by skin contact or something.
Kino-San, standing a noticeable arms length away, holds out a bag towards me."Hey Yori-senpai, I bought you a gif-" she starts saying, before she suddenly starts violently coughing.
"Kino-San!" I exclaim, alarmed at the sudden, violent coughs.
Her coughs go on for almost a minute, and I'm just frozen there, having no idea what to do.
After she finally finishes coughing, she seems to blush out of embarrassment.
"I'm really sorry about that... I don't know what that was all about," she says, awkwardly smiling at me.
"Kino-San, please, you need to tell me what's wrong, it's clear that you're not feeling well," I state, placing my hand on her head. This causes her to blush even more.
"But I... fine, can we find some place to sit, first?" She asks.
"Of course we can, we have been walking for quite a bit after all," I state, and take her to to a bench to sit down.
