The Start of the Tests

You got home tired, disheveled, and hungry. You stumbled over to your closet and grabbed the glowing book before rushing over to the bed and sitting down.

Welcome back, (Y/n).

"Hello."

Who is that girl with the purple hair?

"She's my..." you faltered. "She was my friend. You did a really good job with the NPC players, you know?"

The book stopped its writing.

She isn't an NPC...

"Then who is she? What is she?"

She's- I don't know... but this isn't the reason why I'm writing to you know. I need to tell you some important things as I watch you play.

You see, I see a different view than what you see. You're currently playing in first person, while I am looking over you and the princes like its an otome game.

"Get to the point. I'm tired."

Okay, fine. There is a love meter in the top right corner that only I can see. I can also pause the game as well, but I haven't found a need to yet. However, the love meter is your lifeline.

"And how did you figure this out?"

Just trust me. Right now, the game has recognized that you had started the Quinn route, and the love meter is attached to that certain prince.

"That's neat and all. What is my current affection level with him now."

It's small, it wrote, but it's only the beginning of the game.

Adding on, I just want to say that for now, I am reducing the scripting, making you have more free reign. They will pop up here and there though, just to test the feature. But remember; do not make the love meter go down to zero.

One last thing: when you are chosen, bring this book with you. I will give you your current affection level, bugs, and other sorts of neat things. Maybe I'll tell you about my day!

"I don't think a summary of your day is needed," you said with a deadpan. "But thank you."

Quinn is attracted to you right now. A smiley face appeared right beside the writing.

"Hang on, I have a question."

What is it?

"Do you know that when my affection level reaches zero, I will actually die?" you asked, twiddling your thumbs nervously.

Right now, in the most basic way I can explain this, it is coded that if your affection reaches level zero, it's a game over. I don't want to test that out.

You bit your lip. "Fine, I won't do that."

Perfect. Goodnight, and I will write to you tomorrow morning.

"Sure, goodnight."

The next morning, you fell out of bed. With a groan, you stood up and stretched up towards the sky.

You went to your wardrobe and threw open the closet. Inside was a different outfit, consisting of a green dress with a layer of a lighter green and a ruffled top with cream-colored flowing sleeves.

"Wow, you really amped the dress up for today."

It's a big day!

You took off your clothes to make way for the lightweight dress. "I could've used that yesterday. Yesterday was a pretty big day."
