Chapter 1: Discovery of the Red Amulet
Ah, a normal day in Hope Springs. Four kids were enjoying their after school play date. It was all fun and games, that is before the sky started to get really dark. Clay noticed first. "Hey, it's getting dark all of the sudden..." Clay said, looking up. The other three look up and realize it too. "Yeah..." Watts mumbles. Then they see light from a building. "There's light from that building!" Wren pointed out the obvious. "Maybe it's causing the dark sky." Treena said as she sees where the light is heading to.

"Maybe we should investigate it." Clay insisted. Before the three could reply, a superhero flies over to the light. "...Nope, seems like a hero is on it already." Treena shrugged. The four continue playing, unknowingly noticing the hero being thrown away. The next day comes by and the sky was still dark. "Odd... The sky should be brighter since that hero handled the situation..." Watts told Wren as they approached the Action Academy. "Maybe a storm is coming, the clouds sure are dark today..." Wren responded, looking at the clouds. The two enter the building and walk through the hallways, almost coming across the classroom.

"Treena? Clay?" Watts said in confusion, seeing the two in the Vault of Villains. Treena and Clay get startled and nearly jump back. "Watts!? Wren?!" Treena gasped, "You two are here early..." Treena then patted herself. Clay sighed in relief, knowing it was just Watts and Wren. "What are you two doing in the Vault of Villains?" Wren asked as she and Watts entered the room. "U-Um... No reason much..." Clay answered, all nervous. Watts and Wren look past Treena and Clay, seeing a button with an amulet-shaped symbol on it. "OoOoOoh!!! What's this!?" Wren charged past the two and pressed the button. "Wren!!!" The three shrieked. Wren realizes her mistake and backs away quickly, as soon as the wall opens. "Wren, what did you do!? Why'd you press the button?!" Treena scolded.

"But the button was so shiny! And interesting! I just had to push it!" Wren replied, making a sad face. "Uhm Treena? Wren? We have bigger issues here." Clay said as they all see a hallway leading to a room. "Do we go in?" Watts asked. "I don't see why not?" Treena replied, shocking Clay. "B-But Treena!! We don't even know what's in there!!" Clay objected, thinking about how dangerous it could be. "Yeah, I kinda agree with Clay." Wren said. "Well you opened the wall, Wren! And besides, aren't we all curious to know what's inside?" Treena said, entering the hallway. "T-Treena!?" Clay said as Watts and Wren enter the hallway too, "Watts!? Wren!?- Oh no..." Clay grumbled as he followed them all. Along the hallway, the four could see images of people wearing some odd amulet.

"Who are these people?" Wren asked softly. "Probably-" Treena abruptly interrupts Watts. "If you say it, I will smack your face with my wand." Treena said. The four continue walking and arrive in a small room. At the center of the small room was a totem, on it was a red glowing amulet. "Whoa... What's that shiny thing?" Wren asked, looking at it. Upon looking at the glowing amulet under it's glass case, the four came close to it. The glass case shown reflections of them. "Hot Sparks! This must be the Red Amulet!" Watts said out of context. The three look at him. "How would you know?" Clasy asked. Watts brings out a comic book from his bag. He shows a Crimson Cape issue #130. "Where... Is... it.....? Aha!" Watts said as he flipped through the pages. He showed the three a part of the comic where Crimson Cape and the Super Intendent have discussed about the Red Amulet.

"...You know, I can't decide whether this is a comic or a biography." Treena grumbled. "But maybe the comic had information about it." Treena continued, taking the comic. While Treena reads the comic for information, Wren looks at the shiny amulet. Admiring its shinyness and beauty, she touches the glass case. "Uh oh...!" She said as the glass case disintegrated slowly. Watts noticed and is shocked. "Wren!? What did you do now!?" Watts asked angrily. "Hey, I just touches the case and it just... Just disappeared, I swear!" Wren replied, a bit afraid. "Are you going to blame me for admiring its beauty?" Watts groaned. Treena gives back the comic to Watts. "Nothing so far- Wait, where did the case go?" Treena asked.

"Wren said it disappeared when she touched it." Clay answered. Treena was shocked. "WREN!?" She screamed. "Come on, it was beautiful okay!!" Wren tried to save herself from a lecture. Treena sighs and rolls her eyes. "Ugh, we should get out." Treena said in a foul mood. "Before Wren causes something to happen." She added. "Yeah. Mr. Ernesto must be waiting for us in the classroom right now." Clay said. The four silently exit the room and into the hallway. As the four walk through the hallway back to the Vault of Villains, the amulet glows brighter as if it sent a message. The four enter the classroom, seeing Mr. Ernesto waiting for them. "Good Morning Mr. Ernesto!" The four greeted. "Hello Action Pack! You're all... Simunltaneously late..." Mr. Ernesto responded.

"We, uh..." Clay then whispers over to the three. "Do we tell him what we found?" Mr. Ernesto heard Clay. "Found what?" Mr. Ernesto asked. The four were a bit nervous. Treena explains to Mr. Ernesto that they found a button on the wall of the Vault of Villains that lead to a room where they found the Red Amulet. "And Wren touched the case and it disappeared." Treena added, making Wren groan in annoyance. "Well first of all, why were you four in the Vault of Villains? Secondly, Wren, you shouldn't have done both of that." Mr. Ernesto said. "I'm sorry..." Wren apologized. "It's okay, Wren. So Action Pack-" Mr. Ernesto was interrupted by Plunky.

Plunky screamed out an alarm. "Uh oh Action Pack, seems like we have an emergency!" Mr. Ernesto said. They all come over to Plunky. Mr. Ernesto presses Plunky's face gently and it shows a holographic screen that showed them all the emergency. "That's the light we saw yesterday! The one that made the sky so dark." Watts realized. "Didn't a hero handle it?" Clay questioned. "Well whatever happened, we need to stop that light." Mr. Ernesto said, "Action Pack..."

"Okay, now all of you hurry over to that light!" Mr. Ernesto instructed. The four rush over to where the light is coming from. As they make their way there, Watts rushed over. He lands on the roof and sees a girl with red hair and black clothing. "Hey! Um, excuse me?" Watts greeted, "Are you the one handling this machine?" Watts asked as he looked at the machine. The girl turned around and sees Watts. "Another one?!!? SERIOUSLY!? UGH!!!" The girl then summons shadow dolls. The dolls surround Watts and nearly attack him. Watts luckily flies away and back to his friends.

"So who's responsible for the light?" The four stop at a roof top, just a bit far from the building the machine and the girl were on. "Some girl with red hair and emo clothing. She can make dolls out of shadows!" Watts answered, looking afar. "Interesting... Then we should proceed with caution!" Clay said. "Yeah, no figures. So here's the action plan-" Treena was about to bring out the plan when shadow dolls fell from the sky and ambushed them. "Leaping Leopards! Watch out!!" Wren gasped. The four tried their best dodging the shadow dolls' attacks, as well as try to think of a plan to stop the girl. "Wren! Do you think you can distract the girl?" Treena shouted, as she tried to kick away the dolls that surrounded her.

"What? Why me!" Wren asked, as she flew up with her butterfly wings. "Because you can fly!" Treena could only respond. Wren rolls her eyes and flies over to the girl. Wren goes back to her normal form and falls right towards the girl. "FLYING SQUIRREL ATTACK!!!" She yelled before landing straight onto the girl. "AWWWUGH!?!?" The girl shrieked. Wren quickly gets off the girl and backs away. The girl gets up and growls. Her hands summon more dolls making Wren afraid. The dolls surround Wren. They get close, only to get pounced away by Wren. "Take that you awful dolls!" Wren said.
