It's almost a month later and the last night before Laura comes back. You've loved your time at the Potters, Laura was right they really do treat those who work for them like family and you're going to miss the placement.
George has pretty much been a permanent fixture in the house, calling in each day after the shop closes and often while it's open, you've heard Ron complaining to Harry about that. His excuse of suddenly wanting to spend so much time with his sister's children not fooling anyone.
You don't know exactly how you feel about it, he's lovely, charming and funny, but your heart still very much feels like it was left in Wiltshire. Each time you go out you see Draco, not really of course, but the back of a blonde head, the drawl of a passing wizard, the way somebody moves, still causes your breath to hitch and the agonizing disappointment when you realise it isn't him still hurts as much as did six months ago.
You've got dinner plans with George this evening and you're looking forward to it despite the melancholy you harbour within.
As you unpack the bags of shopping in the Potter's kitchen you turn to find him grinning at you.
"Hello," you smile as he comes into the room while you empty Albus-Severus' sippy cup into the sink.
"Hello, still okay for dinner tonight?"
"Of course."
"Good, I want to take you somewhere special tonight and wow you, there's also something I want to talk to you about."
You look at him curiously, "Okay."
"So let's dress up or they might not let us in," he winks.
"Oh, well I don't have my dress robes here, they're back in storage at my parents."
"I could get you a dress," he offers.
"No!" you cry, "no it's okay, I'll find something."
"Why won't you let me buy you an outfit?"
You turn back to the sink and touch the tap with your wand, "Because someone once told me I should never accept a gift from a man I couldn't eat or put in water."
"I could ask Honeydukes about whipping you up an edible dress, that could be fun," he grins causing you to flush.
"A kind offer, but no, I'll find something," you reply firmly.
"Alright, if you're sure, I'll pick you up at 8 pm."

Upstairs in your room you get down on your knees and pull out the trunk from under the bed, barely touched since you left the manor. You rummage through the clothes and think about going home and getting the dress robes from your parent's basement but then you uncover a hint of scarlet. You slowly pull out the dress, the rubies glinting in the light from the fittings above, and with a shrug, you throw it onto the bed ready for later.

"Bloody hell!" George gasps as he watches you descend the staircase a few hours later wearing the gown from Twilfitt and Tattings."Mudblood!"
"Shut up!" Ginny hisses at the portrait before she grins watching her brother's reaction to you.
"Is it too much?" You ask nervously as you reach the entrance hall.
But words seem to have escaped George as he gapes open-mouthed at you.
"Of course not," Ginny replies for him, "and if it is he'll just have to take you somewhere nicer than he planned, won't you George?...George?"
"What oh yes, sorry, you look...amazing!"
