If I squinted, I could almost imagine like all of these people were part of something bigger and more important. Like I was being transported to my early twenties, when fighting for the revolution had seemed the most important thing. Except here there would be no tear gas, no bullets. Even if the local team lost, I could bet good money that people wouldn't start beating each other up. That there wouldn't be mourners at the end of tonight.

Even though Ares doesn't go to my school—he goes to a fancy private school instead—I've spent a lot of time checking him out. Let's just say I've had an immense, years-long crush on him. Si entrecerraba los ojos, casi podría imaginarme como todas estas personas eran parte de algo más grande y más importante. Como si fuese transportada al principio de mis veintes, cuando pelear por la revolución se veía como la cosa más importante. Excepto que no había gas lacrimógeno, ni balas. Incluso si el equipo local perdía, podía apostar mucho dinero a que la gente no empazaría a golpearse los unos a los otros. Que no habrían dolientes al final de la noche.

A pesar de que Ares no va mi colegio —él va a un colegio privado de lujo—, he pasado mucho tiempo viéndolo. Digamos que tenía un inmenso crush con él.
