I wake up with my hair spewing over my face like I've turned into Chewbacca overnight and I blow my hair out of the way so it doesn't obstruct my vision.

What happened last night.. I don't remember falling asleep..?

I reach to take my phone that lies dangerously on the edge of my study table, groaning when I see that it's at 17% because I forgot to charge it. Thankfully, I have an hour to get some charge in before my lecture starts.

The screen lights up to my touch and I feel a pang of guilt when I see that H/n left five messages last night. I hope she didn't think I don't want to talk to her.

Instead of getting up and brushing my teeth first or perhaps combing out my hair, I sit in my unmade bed and text her back.

On the way to my first lecture, I'm occupied with my phone and not watching where I'm going –- a painful habit that often causes mishaps and unfortunate events in my life. I bump into someone who makes a hiss in a familiar tone.

"Watch where you're g- Y/n?"

I quickly take out my earphones and gaze up in frantic apology, stunned when I meet the victim of my carelessness.

"H/n?"

We take a second to process each other's presence, and I'm the one to say something first.

"Why are you here?"

She gives me a puzzled look, "This is my university?"

I mouth an 'O', wondering why I haven't seen her on campus before despite it being several months into my first year. Was the campus that big?

It seems to dawn on her too as a smile takes over her previously confused expression, "Damn, I haven't seen you around here before."

"Same, had no idea our campus was that big."
"You reckon it's just fate? This makes it a lot more convenient."

H/n sucks in a breath that seems regretful, "I should have brought the thing I got for you.. but I left it at home. I didn't think I'd see you so soon."
"It's alright, that gives us an excuse to hang out another time."

She nods, then flicks her wrist to check her beautiful watch that costs more than my yearly earnings, "I don't want to be late to my lecture, but I'll see you later!"

Reluctantly, I give her a wave, watching as she turns the corner and vanishes beyond the university's grey walls. I don't want to be late to my lecture either. Not when Mr Leeson is the lecturer.
