After another hour of more chatter about books, I glance at my watch and suck in a breath.

"Dang, sorry. Gotta go. I have a bus to catch." I grab my book and tote bag, slinging it on my shoulder as I get up from the sofa chair.

"Wait-" H/n takes out her phone and hands it to me, "Can I have your number?"

Almost walked out without getting this angel's number. How scary. I quickly enter my number on the keypad and grin while saving my contact as 'Book (sugar) baby'.

"Thank you again for the book!" I hand her back her phone.

She shakes her head, "No need to thank me. It was my pleasure."

I wave at her before I start walking towards the bookstore's exit and turn my head another time when I reach it, touched to see that she's still gazing my way. She gives me a final wave before I push the glass door and feel the breeze swirling outside gently skim my face.

Sitting on the bus, a loud notification calls attention to my phone and attracts judgement from the other passengers. Ugh, I forgot to turn my ringer off again. I mouth a 'sorry' directed to nobody in particular and hurriedly check the notification, hoping it's who I think it is.

Unknown number: I see u saved yourself as 'Book baby' hm?

A smile inevitably curls the edges of my lips and though I want to reply as immediate as possible, my thumbs hover above the screen in a stupor of what to say.

You: yes do u like it? what should i save u as?

I bite the tip of my nail as I stare at the screen in an anticipation of her next message. Luckily, it only takes a few seconds for it to come.

Unknown number: How about 'Book (sugar) mommy' ?

(Contact name has been updated)

Book (sugar) mommy: Matching contacts !
You: done!
Book (sugar) mommy: Haha nice, r u on the bus now?
You: yea
Book (sugar) mommy: Ah alr, stay safe:)
You: thanks<3

It's a little upsetting that the conversation ends so fast, but I remind myself to be patient and that I can message her later on anyway.

At least that was the plan I had in mind –– not considering the fact that I might pass out on the bed after finishing up all my assignments, showering and eating dinner.
