“Hello 👋👋I know I haven't posted in a while here, sorry.
Sometimes (or probably most times), heck call it all the time, I have nothing worth posting for the whole world to see. And some things just shouldn't be seen by the eyes of the public, like important memories that should be locked up away and enjoyed by only you, and those involved.......(I'm drifting, sorry again).Anyways, this period of striking 🤓, I've got (because gotten isn't British English) my hands into some things. Some I started a long time ago, and some I started this year.
I like doing things that require physical exertion of my hands, and sometimes I'm quite impulsive 😅😅One of the things I started a while back was baking.
I can remember my first attempt at a cake: no recipe, no videos, no nothing, just the assurance that I had to mix together sweet things, and flour, and eggs.Somehow, there was flour stored away in the kitchen, but we had run out of eggs. So I made do with what I had, and I'll tell you, it wasn't pretty. That was years ago (during the Covid era I think).
Ever since then, the art of baking tickled my fancy (“tickled my fancy" is a new phrase I learnt, thanks to Ilo Somto), and progress has been slow, especially when there hasn't been any physical teachers around. But progress is progress, no matter how slow.
The pics below are some of the first cakes I made that I was able to capture (because I had got a phone then). May not look as pretty as the ones on advertisements and commercial walls, but here we are.
This is me showing you and telling you the beginning of my journey through the art of baking (we're literally back-tracking) but we'll catch up, eventually, (that is if I don't loose confidence and stop posting).
P.S. Don't mind the picture with the bitten slice of cake 😁"
