“After my first attempt at icing a cake, I felt low about icing. It had not turned out the way I wanted: colours didn't blend like I wanted it to, and it wasn't looking professional like the ones I saw on pictures and YouTube channels.
This time around, the icing was not planned. It was practically left overs from the first attempt. And so to say, the cake turned out well (I feel like the knowledge that I want to ice my cake messes my cakes).
And because I was not in the mood to struggle with smoothing the buttercream on the cake (also because the buttercream would not have been enough for that), I just went on to rub it around, then piped some on top in swirls abi ribbons. Then I sprinkled some cinnamon powder on top.
I did not have a piping bag or tip, so I used water proof bags as a substitute.
And I was smiling at the end: it took on a beauty of its own."
