From the moment Ame was born Henry was obsessed with him. He would go around flaunting with the baby carrier and Ame inside saying this is my son guys! He would coo at Ame as he slowly rocked him to sleep. Even at late nights where Ame would be up all night crying, Henry made sure to help out. This made Madeline laugh a lot as she practiced violin in the other room. She often said to Henry "ma'am is it okay if I babysit your son for a moment." Then Henry would play along saying "of course sir only if you give him back" and would complete it with a lady's courtesy.
At the age of 2 Ame started to babble more. He would say simple words like mom, dada and a ruined version of I miss you." Those were three valuable words in the household. He would say I miss you to his mom over the phone as she was on the way to performances. He would tell his dad I miss you while he was at work. This was Ame's daily routine and the normal for him only being 2. One day the normality was shaken.
Ame had kissed Henry and his mom goodbye and sat in the living room with the nanny. They played with toys, did nap time, and listened to childrens rhymes. After a while Ame started to get agitated from his parents being away from home for so long. Since he didn't know any words he sat and cried loudly. He didn't stop until he heard his nanny talk on the phone. She had a worried look on her face and tears locked in her eyes.
She quickly grabbed Ame's coat and carried him to the car. They arrived at the hospital and quickly rushed to the room where Madeline sat outside crying. Walking over Madeline grabbed Ame and said "hi honey" and walked into the room with him. Their on the bed was Henry laying down but the difference is he wasn't moving. Henry was lifeless with no movement at all. As Madeline cried yelling "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS" Ame stared blankly because he didn't know what was going on. The only words that came out of his mouth was "I miss you." So when 12 year old Blue asked 11 year old Ame "where's your dad at?" Ame did what 2 year old him couldn't do at the time. He broke down into tears.
