Betrayal?

(Elvia's POV)

I woke up the next morning, and by the silence, I assumed that everyone was still asleep. I sped down the stairs as quietly as I could and began to clean while avoiding the sleeping bodies, I lifted the tables and cleaned the dirty dishes. I was humming a little tune while carefully moving Ban off of the table and onto the floor when I heard a *Thump* I jerked my head toward the sound and saw Harlequin regaining his balance.

(King's POV)

I was listening to her calm, angelic voice humming as she swiftly moved around the room cleaning up around the tavern, then as I was listening to her sweet song, I suddenly lost my balance and fell on the floor. 'Dammit I'm such an idiot' I thought as she directed her attention to me, as I slowly regained my balance, she looked away silently, I kept my distance, I've liked her for years, but I've never told her, and now I think it might be too late, or I might even be too scared to tell her because of what happened..

(Elvia's POV) 

As I continued to work, I heard Harlequin shuffling around while still keeping his distance, I didn't acknowledge him much as I worked, I just continued in silence as I moved the sleeping heads. When I finished cleaning, I headed toward the door to exit the tavern, but the door was blocked by Harlequin. "Why are you just staring at me?" he asked still leaning against the door.

"Can you move?" I finally said with an annoyed voice.

"Oh.. yeah.." he said moving to the side.

 As I walked around Liones helping people as I went, I felt his presence following me, I didn't look at him, I just kept walking.

I took a break from helping the town around noon and went to check up on Gloxinia at the cave and by the time I got there, I noticed that Harlequin had stopped following me and had most likely returned to the tavern. I entered the cave and saw Drole but not Gloxinia,"I don't wanna ask but I feel like I have to, where's Glo-" 

I was cut off by another voice, "Behind you." I heard Gloxinia say before spinning me to face him, before I could say anything to him, he pulled me in for a deep kiss, still standing right in front of Drole. 

"Goddammit Gloxinia, can't you ever just appear like a normal person?" I said quickly moving out of his grasp.

"Uhhh, no."  he answered as he grasped my waist and pulled me outside,"Drole and I are busy today, but the second we're finished, I'll come find you and we can go on a date to that special spot I showed you the other day, OK Princess?" he said.

"Yeah OK." I answered as he gave me a quick but passionate kiss,

"I'll see you later El." he said before walking back into the cave.

When I arrived back at the tavern, instead of silence when I entered, I heard one voice, Harlequin's. "Hey, Captain.." he said approaching me.

"Harlequin..?"  before I could walk to my room, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me outside, "Harlequin, what are you doing?" but before I could pull away, he interrupted.

"I know that Gloxinia likes you.." he said pushing me against the tavern wall.

"W-what are you doing..?" I said while Harlequin continued.

"So, I have to get this off my chest before I lose my chance.." he continued "I'm in love with you Captain.." just as I began to process his words I felt him push his lips against mine, but before I could pull away, I saw Gloxinia standing behind Harlequin. I quickly pushed him away and went to follow Gloxinia but he was out of sight before I could.
