Trial

(Elvia's POV)

After I had appeared in The First Fairy Queen's Forest, I began wandering around, admiring how lovely it looked, when I was grabbed from behind "Hey El~" I knew immediately that it was Gloxinia behind me, I quickly pushed him away, still being mad at him in reality, but I must admit, it felt good to feel his warm touch on my body again.. 

For the next 10 minutes or so, I went through scenes from the past, scenes that made me happy, but the second I let my guard down, and almost forgot about the trial, the scene changed, to Gloxinia laying down on the ground, a large cut across his chest.. 'I don't remember this..' I thought as I stared at his body, life slowly leaving his eyes. The next thing I knew, I was surrounded by darkness, everything around me being destroyed, even farther than I could see.

When I regained consciousness, I had returned to where I started. 'So that's what she's planning..'

 It had felt like days since I started the trial, constantly remembering why I love Gloxinia, and then watching the life fade from his eyes. Every. Single. Time. I lost control and destroyed everything in sight. 

"Ok.. I know what will happen.." I said, tired of this long, annoying, process. "I can do this.", I walked toward Gloxinia, determined to finished this stupid trial. It has gone well so far..

oh no..

'It's okay Elvia.. calm down..' I thought as I stared down at the sickening sight before me.

Next thing I knew, I was back in the dark tower-like building. "I- I did it?!" I said as I realized what was happening.

"Yes," Zaneri answered as I turned to Elizabeth who was do a trial of sorts as well. 

"Wait.. What about Meliodas?" I asked staring at his body, fidgeting uncomfortably, "I- Is he OK?" 

"Oh no.. I need to pull him out right now.." Zaneri said casting another spell to pull him out, as he regained his senses, he finally spoke.

"WHY'D YOU PULL ME OUT OF THERE?!"

" Isn't it obvious? You're still unable to suppress your wrath, repeating the cycle of mayhem and destruction. If this continues, rather than emotions, your spirit will die instead." 

"DAMN IT!" Meliodas yelled in a controlled rage as Elizabeth went to console him. 

"It's OK, nobody is blaming you for anything. No matter how many times the 'deck' was stacked against you, you have always risked your life for ours Sir Meliodas." She said to him in a sweet and calming voice. 

"Enough! You need to focus on your own test Elizabeth!" Zaneri yelled. After a quick moment of silence, Meliodas finally spoke;

"Zaneri, send me back in, please, one more time." 

"What? That's insane Meliodas. Look, not even you could possibly stand any more of this stress!" She answered 

"It's not a problem. I can do it."

" Please don't ask me to do that! If you continue it might truly break your spirit! One wrong move and you could lose your life all together!"

"I can't move forward if I fail this test! So put me back!"

"Alright fine, I'll do it, but you have to promise that you will return safely."

"Right. I promise Zaneri." Meliodas said as Zaneri sent him back to finish what he started.

After a couple minutes, a scream of agony erupted from Meliodas, "I can't watch this anymore, I'm pulling him out of there!" Zaneri said, about to cast the spell. 

"Zaneri wait!" I said. 

"get out of my way Elvia! At this rate he will-"

"please I know he can do it, just please let him fulfill his promise!"

" You don't know what you're talking about!" Zaneri said as we looked at Meliodas who had began.. Crying?

After a couple seconds of silence, Meliodas had awoken, he'd done it. "Yo!" He said regaining his iconic smile.

"Meliodas, how did you-" Zaneri said but was cut off by my brother.

"Whoa Elizabeth, what all this crying about?" He said like he didn't know he'd also just been crying. 

"Oh! Sorry, when I saw your tear, I guess mine just started flowing.." Elizabeth said, and with one quick swoop Meliodas wiped his tears away.

"What tears?" He said. 

"Meliodas! If you overcame that trial, does that mean that you truly abandoned your emotions?!" Zaneri yelled. 

"What? Of course not! Everything that's important to me is right here!" He exclaimed as he pointed to his chest, 

"Hold on.. Then how did you-"

I cut her off, "Since we passed the test as you had requested, we'll be taking our power back now."

" Okay, but first.. You need to train or else your body will not be able to withstand your power.." Zaneri said, leading us out of the cave.
