Alise walked into Walgreens with the girls. Of course, like the little girls they were, they fixed their eyes on candy and small toys. Alise had something more important to go buy. They ran, hopped, and skipped alongside her. She went to the Sexual Wellness area. She walked past the lube, condoms and cased up Plan B. Maybe if her and Theo remembered to use those things, she wouldn't be looking for what she came for.

Alise: 2 for 12? That'll work.

She looked at the store brand that was a few bucks cheaper. She wondered if those ones would give her as accurate results. She decided she couldn't trust them and stuck to the First Response brand.

Alise: Alright, come on.

The girls were not leaving without getting something on this errand run. Madi picked Haribo gummy bears and Nyla picked Swedish Fish. Alise had to be fair and get Lottie a snack too. She knew Lottie liked Takis and so got her a bag. They went to check-out. The cashier rang up their stuff.

Cashier: $20.39.

Alise handed her 21 dollars.

Alise: Keep the change.

The cashier handed Alise her the receipt and bag.

Cashier: Thanks for coming, have a nice day!

Alise: Thank you.

They left and the girls ran ahead of Alise. They got in the car and Alise made sure they were all safe. She got in the car and started it.

Nyla: Can we have the candy now?

Alise: No.

Madi: WHY!?

Alise: I don't want you girls to not be hungry for dinner.

Madi shrieked and Nyla whined. Alise looked in the rear view mirror.

Alise: If you two don't stop, you're not having any candy at all.

They continued moping and feet kicking.

Alise: Hold up. Let me call Theo.

Madi & Nyla: NOOO!

Alise: Then stop it.

They made it home and Alise did all the evening duties for the girls. She cooked and fed them dinner, made sure Lottie's homework was completed, and that they had baths. She wrapped Theo's dinner and put it in the microwave. She went into the bathroom and pulled her underwear down. She swiftly read the box before removing the plastic and opening the box. Alise had taken a pregnancy test before, when she thought her and Theo had slipped up, but it had obviously came out negative. At the same time she began peeing on both test, she heard tiny knocks.

Alise: Yes!?

Nyla: Umm! What are you doing?

Alise: Using the bathroom.

Madi: Are you peeing?

Alise: Yes Madisyn and Nyla, I'm peeing. Why don't you go ask Lottie what she's doing.

4 little feet quickly shuffled away. She smiled, relieved that she had them out of her hair for a few minutes while she waited for her results. She looked at the time on her phone and bounced her leg. Perhaps her period was just a week late and she was freaking out again. After a few minutes, she looked at the tests again.

Alise: Hold up...

She did a head shake and then a double take. 2 pink lines on both tests.

Alise: Oh shit...

It was official; Theo had gotten her pregnant. Alise was in so much shock at the moment. She snapped a picture of the pregnancy tests. Maybe her and Theo weren't as thorough with condoms as she had thought they were being, and even so, like all contraceptions, condoms weren't a perfect solution. Her and Theo took care of other peoples' kids, but this was different. She was actually the pregnant one this time. She had to carry it for 9 months and then push it out. From breast feeding to high school diploma receiving, she had to be there through all the stages in between. Alise cleaned up after herself and left the bathroom. She went in her and Theo's room and stashed her test.
