Eden footsteps were quick as she strode out of the library, pulling her radio from her belt loop to bring it to her lips. She could hear Nancy and Robin scrambling behind her, but her gaze didn't move from the car.
'Dustin, do you copy?' She asked.
'Yeah, I copy,' Dustin's voice crackled in reply.
'So, Nancy's still pain in the ass smart. Vecna's first victims date back all the way to nineteen fifty nine. Her shot in the dark was a bull's-eye.'
'Okay, that's totally bonkers, but I can't really talk right now.'
'Why? What're you up to? What's Steve gotten you into?'
'Breaking and entering school to retrieve confidential and extremely personal files.'
'Can you repeat that? Why wasn't I invited?'
'Just get your ass over here, stat. We'll explain everything.'
'I thought they were talking to Ms. Kelley?' Nancy queried.
'We leave them alone for two hours with Steve. What else could you expect?'
Eden slid into the car, turning the ignition as the girl climbed in too.

It didn't take the girls long to find the open door at the side of the school, walking quickly through the dark halls of Hawkins High. Eden turned as Robin and Nancy continued on, heading toward the office. Her brows furrowed at the distant sound of a clock chiming, shiver running down her spine.
'Eden? Where are you going?' Nancy called after her.
'I need to ring someone,' She waved them off; 'I'll catch up.'
Nancy sighed, continuing on without her. Eden broke into a jog, hoping to be quick so she didn't have to catch up on much. She pushed open the doors to the office she'd sat in many times, making her way behind the desk to grab the phone. She dialled the number to home, listening to it ring in her ear.
'Hello?' Lindy's voice spoke into her ear.
'Lindy, hey,' She sighed, a sudden yearning making her chest ache.
'Eden? How are you, sweetheart?'
'Uh, alright. I guess. I just wanted to check in. How are they?'
'They're good. Asking for Mum, but they're ok. How long until you're home?'
Eden paused, closing her eyes; 'I don't know, Mum. It's kind of crazy down here right now. Um, I'll keep you updated when I can.'
