Harry James Peverell, join me or feel my wrath.

For Death doesn't discriminate.

G.G.

When the initial shock was over, Harry started laughing, making Death glare at him.

''Why are you laughing, foolish child?''

''Not Master anymore, huh?'' Harry said with a smile, making Death roll his eyes. Death then made a gesture as to say, 'well, tell me.'

''For Death doesn't discriminate-'' Harry quoted from the letter with a smirk. ''-He doesn't know that. He fears Death just like anyone else. He thinks he's more powerful because of the wand he carries, but he hasn't even noticed it's a decoy and not the real thing anymore.''

Death hummed at that in agreement before turning serious.  ''You should not underestimate him. The Hallows have chosen you, and you will not lose their alliance, but don't lose yourself to the power they hold. And with that, lose your common sense. Grindelwald is dangerous, and you should remember that.''

Harry felt his amusement from earlier melt and nodded. He knew that Death had a point. When he thought back at the fight from yesterday, he felt exhilarated, unbeatable, powerful, but he let it go to his head. And Harry knew that, and he felt a little disgusted by it. He should watch out. Harry knew he would never be a Dark Lord, but he already felt the pull to show off, to be more than just Harry. While in his former life, he only wanted to be normal.

Yes, he knew he would never be normal. But he needed to remember himself from before. Harry needed to be in control of himself and of the Hallows, even if their powers were intoxicating.

''I understand, and I will remember. I will not underestimate Grindelwald, and I will not underestimate Tom Riddle. Grindelwald needs to be stopped, and Tom-''

''Tom needs to see the error in the path he wants to wander. He needs to be pulled by someone with love as his greatest power.''  Death said, making Harry cringe.

''You sound like Dumbledore. 'You have a power the Dark Lord knows not. Love Harry, for love, is the most powerful tool of them all.''' Harry said with a little disgust, thinking back to what Dumbledore said to him after Sirius had died.

''Even if I mostly don't agree with the old coot, he was correct in this statement. Tom Riddle has never known of love. Has never felt it, but you, Harry, can show him.''

Harry hummed and frowned at the fire. ''Why me? I have felt love in my life, but mostly that of friendships, like Hermione and Ron. I know I love them. But I've never felt romantic love or a mother's love, my mother died, and I don't remember anything from before she was alive. Sure, I know she loved me. She was the reason I survived all those years ago. Sacrificing herself for me. To save me. But I've never felt it for myself. How can I show someone love if I don't know it for myself?''

''You said it yourself, Master, you've felt love in friendship, start with that. Maybe it's enough.''

Harry sighed but nodded in agreement. He stayed in the Room of Requirement for the rest of the day, even eating there. At some point, when he grew restless, he asked the room for training dummy's and started firing spell after spell, knowing that he needed to train if Grindelwald would come for him.

For he knew that the man would come for him. But Harry would be ready. He would not let himself be overpowered by the man or let Dumbledore take Grindelwald down.

Most of Dumbledore's fame came from his victory over Grindelwald, but now Harry knew more about both men, he couldn't let Dumbledore rise to power again. The man maybe had 'for the greater good' as his life motto, but Harry knew that it didn't help the magical community at all.

Harry was going to change that with Tom, even if the latter wasn't aware of that yet.
