Chapter 24

Bakugou's Pov:

I feel my heart twist into a knot as his hand moves just out of reach.

I pull my hand back and trail behind him, barely able to put one foot in front of the other.

He clearly noticed, sending looks over, though I couldn't say whether it was concern or disappointment.

When we were alone, he stops and turns , his arms crossing.

I felt nervous, his face hasn't lost the hard look to it.

My heart was beating out of my chest.

I  can barely stand here.

Kirishimas face had a almost.. foreign look to it.

It was hard, mean even.

I swallow what spit I have in my mouth and start, knowing Kirishima was waiting,

"I, uh.. I took a couple xans earlier, there starting to kick my ass." I chuckle a little hoping to ease the situation.

Kirishima doesn't find it amusing, he scoffs and says, suddenly angry, keeping his voice low,

"Xans?! What are you thinking! I know damn well Bakugou Katsuki isn't going to end up a junky. Get your ass together."

It stung, but I could hear how sincere he was in his voice,

"Your somebody, You always have been. Top of the class, Honor roll, you got the brains to make it out here, don't fucking waste it, and especially if it's because of that piece of shit."

I felt overwhelming emotions build up.

I nod, trying to keep my voice from shaking as I say,

"He.. He really hurt me, Ei, and I was so stupid.. So i took them."

I looked up, maybe to get some comfort, but he was staring at me hard as he says,

"Then why?"

I sway, getting light headed for some reason, but manage, "Because.. I don't think about you."

We're both silent.

His eyes never left mine, and I felt myself falling into them the same way I did the first time I met him.

Only, this time he wasn't smiling.

His face still hasn't broke from the hard look, but his eyebrows were more creased.

He definitely felt something.

I move closer, suddenly desperate.

I say, pleading, "Ei, I'm sorry."

I watch his composure break for a moment, and then it snaps back, and he snarls, "It's a little late for that, you think."

I shake my head, desperately trying to convince him,

"I.. I was wrong the whole time, okay? Sero didn't love me, and I left you for no reason."

Kirishima tch's, scowling and saying,

"Don't even try it."
