It was just like old times
Riding passenger in your Jeep
Now we're in a Chevy
Still with one hand on the wheel
You didn't ask if I missed you
You asked how my flight was
I feel you knew the answer to what you should've asked
Of course I missed you
Terribly
But I chose school
while you chose fame
And I didn't blame you for your choices
You had a dream and you chased it
I loved you for it
But I wish I was part of that dream
I didn't mention the pain that stung harshly
Once I looked down at the cup holder
to find a tube of mascara & a girl's bracelet
I knew it was Madison's
My mouth suddenly went dry
It shouldn't have, I'm fine
I've been fine without you
But why was I loving your presence
As if it were the only thing to quench me
