If you were given the chance to save your ancestors from ruin, will you accept it?

Jimena Baltazar, a 21st-century woman with modern ideals and values, was sent back to the 1800s Philippines when the country's political atmosphere was at its worst and glory.
One would think that such an event had come by chance; that it was entirely her choice to go back and experience the past, but that's not the case at all. An ancestor of hers had decided for her and even gave Jimena the mission to save their family line from ruin.
She was even placed in a body of a child ancestor, which truthfully made Jimena flabbergasted. For aside from the fact that she needed to adjust to a new body, she needed to know her new family members and change her personality in accordance with the prevalent 1800s Filipino culture.
How would Jimena adjust to a different world? Can she even adapt?
Can she change her mindset and risk her life considering that she was given the knowledge of an ugly future?
