period pain ☁️ (transmasc!reader)

A/n: this is based off of my personal experience with periods being a trans masculine person. This is usually how my periods are generally and I just started this months and I feel like I'm dying :')

You wake up to a horrible pain in your lower abdomen. You almost forgot about your period to be honest. It's never on a schedule it just shows up whenever it likes. And the first 2 days are hell for you. You rush to the bathroom after grabbing some new clothes hoping you didn't bleed through the ones you wore to bed. You take them off as quick as you can but your underwear was already ruined. Luckily your pants were safe. You threw them away and got a nice long hot shower. The hot water never ran out on the TARDIS. You were in there for about 45 minutes before you heard a knock on the door.

"Y/n? Are you going to be long? I was hoping we could head off to the planet of rubies soon. The entire planet is one giant ruby-" He just kept talking and talking and frankly you were getting very annoyed. He did this every time you took a shower longer than 30 minutes.

"Excuse me Doctor but I'm kinda busy in here so would you mind leaving me alone?" You said with a much harsher voice then you intended.

"Right. Sorry. I'll be in the main console room." He left

Was I too mean? He sounded pretty dejected... you thought. Deciding to check on him you get out dry yourself and start changing. You went to put on your binder but your breasts were more sensitive now it felt very uncomfortable. So you decided to put on a sports bra that didn't compress them so much. You finished getting dressed and you couldn't help but pick out everything that made you feel bad. Your chest was too big to look like a man. Your hips were too wide. Your face was too feminine. Your legs were too girly. Everything looked wrong.

Despite your best efforts you began to cry a little as you walked through the hallway trying to get back to your room. The Doctor spotted you from behind a ran to catch up with you.

"Are you ready to-" He saw your tear streaked face and immediately went to hug you" Hey what's wrong? What happened?" He said wrapping his arm around you

"Don't" you swatted his arms away

"Oi what did I do?"

"Nothing I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell at you earlier" you laid your head on his chest hugging him

"I thought you didn't want a hug?"

"I changed my mind now hug me before I change it again" You didn't have to tell him twice he was always ready for some hugs. You both just stood in the hallway with him holding you and stroking your back.

"I started my period" You said your voice was muffled my his jacket but he still understood you.

"Oh I'm sorry love do need any pain medication? A heating pad? A regular pad? Ice cream?"

"Yes, yes, no I have some, and yes. I'd also like some cuddles please." Your face was still buried in is chest but he picked you up koala style and carried you to his room before gently setting you on his bed.

"I'll be right back" He says before kissing your forehead and exiting the room. He returns a few minutes later with everything you need and he's even changed into something a bit more comfortable to cuddle. He hands you a drink and some human pain killers. He makes sure to keep his human ones separate from the other ones now. Didn't want to make that mistake again. He let's you get comfortable in the bed with a small bowl of ice cream before climbing in next to you.

"Feeling better?" He asked taking a bite of his own ice cream

"A little... the heating pad helps a lot. Thank you Doctor."

"Of course my love. You know I'd do anything for you" He said with such an adorable smile you couldn't help but giggle at him.

"So, we're you crying for a reason earlier or just normal period crying?" You finish of your ice cream and contemplate whether or not you tell him the truth. You don't want to bother him any more than you already are. He always goes out of his way for you. You don't want to burden him with more of your problems.

"No reason. Was just tired is all."

"You know I can tell when you're lying y/n. Please tell me what's wrong?"

"It's just... I looked in the mirror and I was reminded that I'll never be a man. Sorry it's stupid I know it just bothered me a bit more that usual today."

"What do you mean? Of course you're man love what makes you think otherwise?"

"My face is too feminine, my hips are too wide, my chest isn't flat enough, my-"

"Y/n none of that means you aren't a man. Just because you were born with the wrong anatomy doesn't mean you aren't a man. You are the most handsome man I've ever seen and I've seen my fair share of handsome men." The Doctor reassured. He turned to face you and wrapped his arms around your waist and looked you in the eye. "I know there are people who will tell you otherwise but they don't matter. You know who you are. I know who you are. You will always be a man to me. Your face is so handsome, your hips are absolutely perfect, and I've seen plenty of men without flat chests. So never ever tell yourself otherwise again or I'll prepare another speech. Should I get writing?"

"No thanks" You laughed. He certainly knew how to make you feel better. And he was right. No one else's opinion matters. You knew that of course but that doesn't mean it isn't hard.

"You'll always be my handsome man." The Doctor said as he kissed your forehead. You smile and snuggle into his chest as he squeezes you close to him.

"I love you Doctor"

"I love you too y/n."
