How you met him

You were late for your parents 30th anniversary party. You stood across the street preparing yourself for the earful you'll get when they realize you lied about having a significant other. You took a few steps across the street completely oblivious to the drunk driver speeding right towards you. When you finally saw the headlights someone had already pulled you to safety. You spun around to see a tall man in a leather jacket looking angrily at the fading image of the car he just saved you from.

"Are you alright?" He said searching you face for any distress or pain. He was holding you and you just stood there in shock at what just happened. "Are you hurt?"

"Um.. no I'm okay, thanks to you. I owe you my life!" You said and he let go knowing you were alright.

"It's nothing. Happy to help. See you around!" He waved before turning to walk away.

"Wait! What's your name?" You asked

"I'm The Doctor. What's yours?"

"The Doctor? Doctor who?"

"That's it. Just The Doctor."

"Okay then... thank you for saving me Doctor" He just smiled in return and began to walk away again.

"Doctor wait! Sorry to ask but could you do me a favor and be my boyfriend?"

"Sorry, what?" He just looked at you very confused.

"Not like my actual boyfriend but could you just pretend to be my boyfriend for about an hour?"

"Um... I'm actually.... sure. Why not." You grabbed his arm with a huge smile and began dragging him with you to the party, looking both ways when you crossed the street this time. You told him a bunch of useless things about yourself you thought might come up in conversation with your family as you walked in. It became very apparent to you that he was severely underdressed but he didn't seem to notice. You walked up to a chair with a random blazer on it and slide it off without anyone seeing you. You ushered him into one of the bathrooms and quickly started pulling off his jacket.

"Oi at least buy me dinner first!" He said with a light blush on his face. Then you realized how this looked. You pulled him off the street, shoved him in a bathroom and started stripping his clothes off. Not the best first impression.

"I'm so sorry just put this on and tuck in your shirt. You stick out like a sore thumb in there." You said handing him the blazer. It won't match super well but it'll be an improvement.

"What's wrong with the way I dress? I thought I looked good today..." He said huffing as he tucked in his shirt.

"Nothing! It's just this is a formal party and the leather jacket doesn't exactly look formal. But I do love a good leather jacket" He put on the blazer and it was somehow a perfect fit. He actually looked really nice. You only just now started to really take in what he looked like. He was a handsome man but he wasn't handsome in the way most would describe it. He was different. And he had this air about him that instantly made you feel comfortable and safe. And at the same time he began to admire you. The way your hair perfectly fit your face. Your beautiful eyes and the curve of your lips. Your outfit that hugged your body in all the right places. You both stared at each other in silence until you heard a knock on the bathroom door. You jumped and opened the door to see an old family friend.

"Oh hey!" You said awkwardly as they looked back and forth between you and The Doctor definitely getting the wrong idea. "We were just um..... we were..... freshening up! Yeah just getting ready to introduce him to my parents you know how that goes ha ha" you forced a laugh as you pulled The Doctor out of the bathroom behind you.

"That was so embarrassing I'm so sorry" You said covering your face. He grabbed your wrists and gently brought them down before interlocking your fingers together to hold your hand.

"That's alright I've been in worse situations." He smiled at you and your heart fluttered and red began to flood your cheeks. Why is he so damn cute??? You thought before you heard your name being yelled from across the room

"Y/N!! YOU MADE IT!!" Your mother yelled as she ran to hug you. She squeezed you a bit too tight as she started shaking you in an over enthusiastic embrace. "I was starting to think you weren't coming! Oh is this your amazing boyfriend you told us so much about?" She hugged The Doctor with the same bear hug she gave you.

"Let him breathe dear. You're crushing him." You dad said walking up behind your mom. You gave him a quick hug.

"Mom, Dad, I want you to meet my boyfriend." You gestured to the stranger next to you.

"I'm Th- John. John Smith. Lovely to meet you both." He held out his hand and your father gave him a firm shake.

"It's a pleasure to meet the man responsible for keeping our Y/n out so late all the time." Your mom says winking at him. You cover your face in embarrassment and groan at your mother's bold statement. The Doctor's eyebrows shot up in surprise and your mother just laughed.

"I'm only teasing! Don't look so embarrassed Y/n!" She said

"Leave them alone dear they didn't come here to get exposed" your dad joked.

"Well we'd love to keep chatting but it looks like Sharron wants to gossip about um Betty's date" You lied as you grabbed The Doctors arm and rushed off to some corner to hide.

"I'm so sorry about that they can be a lot" You said rubbing your temples trying to ease the headache that your parents gave you.

"So your name is Y/n? You never told me before. It suits you."

"Yeah it is. Your real name is John Smith?"

"No that's just a fake one I use when I need it. My real name is still The Doctor."

"I think The Doctor suits you just fine." You two talked for several minutes before the earth started quaking. Then you heard the sound of a plane crash but it was way too big to be a plane. The Doctor ran outside with you right behind him to see an alien space ship had crash landed in the middle of the street and a bright light shooting up from the ground where the wreckage stood.

"What the hell is that?" You asked in a panicked voice

"Aliens. I was tracking that ship before I pulled you out of the way of that car. I thought I had time before it started"

"Aliens?? What the fuck is happening??"

"I have to go back to my ship. Get somewhere safe, now!"

"Absolutely not I'm staying with you"

"Alrighty then Y/n. Run!" He grabbed your hand and you both started sprinting to the police public call box sitting on the corner. You had no idea that this stranger and his blue box would change your life forever.

A/n: I was bored so I decided to write this. Not really sure how good it is but it was fun to write! A little cliche but oh well. Enjoy!
