At lunch, Dawit was sitting with Yejun and Minwoo at a table. They chatted over their food, until a sudden familiar figure met his eye.

He raised his hand and gave the younger a wave, unknowingly in sync with a certain someone.

"Donghyun! Come sit with us!"

"Donghyun, wanna sit with us?"

He and Kyungmin asked at the same time. Unbeknownst to the sports player, Kyungmin and his friends were sitting at a table just next to them.

Donghyun blinked mindlessly, not knowing where to go. "Uhm..."

"Feel free to sit wherever you want, hyung." Hyunwoo said, lightly bumping Kyungmin's shoulder with his almost scoldingly.

"Uh... I'll sit with Yunseong." He smiled awkwardly and ran away. He made his way to Yunseong's table all across the canteen, and slammed his tray down shamelessly.

There was a moment of silence in the cafeteria as Kyungmin and Dawit stared in his direction wordlessly. Their eyes eventually met each other's, only for them to turn away within a few seconds.

"Well, that was stupid." Minwoo blurted out.

"No it wasn't!" Dawit retorted, but the two in front of him gave him a questioning side eye.

"Just ask him out, dude. It's not that hard." Yejun shrugged, taking a bite of rice from his spoon.

"That's not the problem. It's that Suh Kyungmin is crushing on him, too. They've known each other for years! I doubt he'd choose me over him." Their eyes shifted to the mentioned boy.

He had his head in his hands as he talked with his friends. Whatever they were doing didn't seem to be helping, as Kyungmin whined every now and then or tried to hit them with his head down.

"Then you just gotta do it before he does." Minwoo suggested.

The older let his head fall on the table with a groan. "I mean, I could..."

"I hate to say this, but you're a charming guy, Dawit hyung. More than half of the school has a crush on you, and I wouldn't be surprised if Donghyun hyung is part of the half." Yejun said, but it didn't reassure the other.

"I've been trying to make moves on him, and I don't think he's noticed..."

There was a brief moment of silence, before Yejun started laughing into his hand. Minwoo cringed, and hid his face behind his sandwich.

"H-Hey! Why are you laughing?" Dawit asked, alarmed by their sudden outburst.

"Nothing! Nothing! It's just... maybe you should confess to him soon." Minwoo dismissed, smiling sheepishly upon noticing the senior's unimpressed expression. An expression he's been seeing quite a lot. "You know, before Kyungmin does it."

Dawit groaned, hiding his face in his hands. There's no way he's gonna do this.

Dawit decided to spend the rest of the day at the gym to get his mind straight. As a sports player, he could practically skip any class he wanted, provided that he was at the gym.

He grabbed a basketball from the stock and shot it towards the hoop from across the court. It doesn't land, of course. It was one of the few tricks he couldn't actually do yet, and he needed to step up his game for the upcoming round.

The school was celebrating its 24th anniversary, and the basketball team, dance team, school choir, and school orchestra will be having their own segments in between games and different other events. Lucky for Dawit, he was not only chosen as a member for the representative basketball team, but that he was also chosen as the escort.
