"There's only a few minutes left until the bell rings. How about we stay here until it does?" The older recommended. Kyungmin thought of it for a while before nodding in agreement.

The two decided to spend the rest of the minutes at the gym, sitting quietly next to each other. Kyungmin wondered if they should just go back to avoid the awkwardness.

"So, Donghyun..." Dawit started, tapping his knee. "You two are close, right? How did you two meet?"

"Oh, we met in 2nd grade. He came up to me and said hi, that's about it..."

"You guys have been friends for a long time now, then?"

"Yeah, we have. He's the closest friend I've ever had." Kyungmin smiled shyly, face turning red as the clock ticked. Despite the dim-litness of the gym, the other could see his reddening face clearly.

"He's pretty close with me, too. I'd call him my bestfriend if he wasn't so close with you." Dawit joked. He nudged the younger lightly, trying to soften the mood.

"Don't say that, I'm sure he loves you." Kyungmin smiled, hiding the bitterness in his words. Dawit was exactly Donghyun's type, he could never love Kyungmin as more than a friend.

"You think so?"

"I know so, you're exactly his type. Why don't you shoot your shot?"

Dawit's eyes widened. Why was he encouraging him when he also liked Donghyun? Had he been reading all the signs wrong? Was Kyungmin just trying to set them up? "I... was under the impression that you liked him too."

"I do but... I'm willing to let you have him since I'm sure he'd be happier with you, sunbaenim. Go for it!"

On a normal day, Dawit wouldn't miss the opportunity to shoot his shot with Donghyun and hearing that his supposed love rival was letting him do it would've mad him even happier- but for some reason, he was hesitant.

"My schedule's pretty crowded, I'll take some time to think about it."

It was Kyungmin's turn to be surprised. He knew Dawit was a busy guy, but he didn't expect that he wouldn't jump on the opportunity to confess to Donghyun. "Are... are you sure?"

"I'm sure. I wanna make sure I have time for him before anything, that's all."

Kyungmin nodded in acknowledgement. If there was one thing he liked about the other, it's that he was mature and didn't rush into things. He knew when he should and shouldn't do something.

In fact, Kyungmin has always admired Dawit. Dawit was strong, handsome, popular, and mature. He was, in a way, Kyungmin's role model even if he didn't think much about it.

Could he be...

Kyungmin shook his head. No, he can't. Not when Donghyun was there. Donghyun is the only person for him, no one could ever change his place. "Are you okay, Kyungmin-ssi?"

Dawit placed a hand on his shoulder and both parties felt a wave of electricity go through their body. Kyungmin jolted at the touch before nodding his head quietly. "Yeah, I'm... I'm fine."

Just then, the bell rang, saving them from the awkward moment.

"I should head off to my next class. I'll see you later, Dawit sunbaenim." Kyungmin stood up and just as he was about to bow to the other, Dawit abruptly stopped him.

"Please, just call me hyung."
