"I don't know, I'm practically swimming in homework and I'd actually like to graduate, you know?" Robin complains down the phone at you, excuse after excuse flying free though you were closed off to all of them. You knew you could convince her. She never could say no to you. Besides, the both of you had already been kept back a year - what was one more?

"Oh, please. I'm picking you up in a half hour. Wear something hot." You simply tell her, hanging up before she could blurt out another excuse, the full moon already higher in the sky than you'd wanted it to be when you left.

A local band was playing at your favorite bar and you were just dying to go see them, but to go alone was just tragic. No, you'd drag Robin along kicking and screaming if you had to; not that it would come to that.

As expected, she's waiting outside for you as you pull up in your dads beat up old car, which creaks and groans as you pull to a stop. "Get in!" You hurry her along with a broad grin, waving your hand in gesture for her to take her place as shotgun, which makes her almost fall in her haste to join you. "Hey!" She says, tucking long legs into the car before slamming the door shut behind her.

"God, I'm so glad you didn't chicken out." You tease, reaffirming your glance to the road as you drove towards the bar.

"What are we even doing? You were talking so fast on the phone, I could hardly keep up."

"Yeah, that's so you couldn't have a moment to think 'cause then you'd back out." You snort, side-eyeing her with a pointed look. "We're going to see Corroded Coffin. They're this small rock band, they used to go to our school but their music is like... Ugh, it's just amazing. You'll love it. Trust me."

A wave of your flippant hand hushes any protests she might elicit, a satisfied smirk settling on your lips at her lack of argument. She absolutely wouldn't love it since she despised heavy rock music, but -- Well, she'd enjoy the experience.

You were being selfish, you knew that, but you were too happy about the evenings events to even care in that moment.

There's a small parking lot out back of the bar and you turn into it, picking a spot close to the door so you wouldn't have to walk far in your boots that were absolutely too high to be fully functional.

To city folk, the bar would be seriously sad. Run down and full of the same old, depressed men and other teenagers from your school that were definitely underage. Not that the bartender particularly cared, so long as he was getting paid. But the bar was one of the best places in town considering just what a small town it was; hardly anything to do, and even then it was mostly just drinking and staying up until dawn doing whatever you could to pass the time with your friends.

So a returning rock band was a refreshing break for you. They'd been touring a few of the small towns nearby, not quite taking off but you had to admit you were momentarily obsessed with them from the moment you found out about them... Yesterday. When you saw the poster. And the hot guy in lead.

They were setting up for their performance as you and Robin get inside, the attention from a few of your male classmates already finding you though you do your best to ignore it with an impolite sneer as you head to the bar. A hand settles on your lower back where your black denim skirt met your crimson blouse at the curve of your spine and you turn to spy the culprit, just as a flash of blonde appears in the space beside you. "Well, Billy Hargrove. At The Hideout? What, is your gaggle of moms busy this evening?" You tease and he rolls his eyes at the suggestion, tongue flicking out over his lips as they peel back into a mischievous smirk. "I'm sure I don't know what you mean."

"Right." You snort, edging out of his reach to stand closer to Robin, who was watching the encounter with an air of amusement. "Well, I'd say this was great, but you're an asshole so-"
